Hemorrhoidectomy recovery

Posted , 1 user is following.

So I had a Hemorrhoidectomy 2 and a half weeks ago, two grade 4 removed and one banded. Like everyone says, the pain is pretty horrendous. The first week especially. I was taking codeine and paracetamol for the first week but now just taking paracetamol after a BM. I'm still experiencing a lot of pain, struggling to move around. Is this normal at this point? I thought I would be able to walk with no pain by now. I have a lot of pain after a BM and spasms quite often. I also noticed what looks like an open wound today (I think stitches have now dissolved) as well as a lot of swelling and lumps in that area. Could I have a fissure? I'm terrified that this recovery process is going to drag out for months and months.

Any advice or reassurance would be great. Thanks
