Hemorrhoidectomy this morning. Should I avoid sitting?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had my hemorrhoidectomy this morning and so far all is well. No pain and easy discharge from the hospital. Because there is no pain, I'm happily sitting on the couch, but it just occurred to me that may not be the right thing to do. Is it better to avoid sitting as much as possible?

Notes: 2 grade 4 hemorrhoids removed, 1 grade 1-2 removed, external hemorrhoid removed.

I layed on the couch on my side or stomach for at least 10 days was told not sit directly on surgery site. You are probably numb for medicine be careful with pain medicine it can and will cause constipation! Good luck

Thank you. I plan to avoid the prescribed narcotics unless it is unavoidable. I'm hoping ibuprofen is sufficient, combined with sitz baths and ice packs.

Thank you! I'm hoping in two weeks I'll be able to add a positive story on here.
