Hemorrhoids

I am 62 years old, was diagnosed as having LS several years ago by biopsy.  It causes intense itching and some bleeding.  My problem is I also have hemorrhoids and they also cause intense itching and bleeding.  Due to my being 62 y/o and not as limber as I was, I have trouble seeing "down there" to see what is flaring up. Does anyone else have this dual condition?  I'm seriously thinking about having the hemorrhoids taken off, just so I only have one condition to worry about.  But I hear hemorrhoidectomy is very painful.  Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.  Thanks.

I had a similar problem, I struggled with haemorrhoids and fissures for a time and when they 'mostly' healed, they left me with annoying skin tags which sometimes caused bleeding etc and I hated having them.  I am 24 and may or may not have LS, it is a bit disputed but lived for a year with the diagnosis before it was questioned.  I had the skin tags removed and was glad I did but I think this is probably less painful than a hemorroidectomy...

    Hi Kathy,

I have the same issues as you and find that this is the area that I split the most. I have been advised to use the dermovate ever day for a week when it flared up then carry on using it twice a week to keep it under control apparently the dermovate is safe to use long term now according to my gyno. It is the only thing that helps me in this area. I also have it over a large part of my body but nothing seems to help that it seems to run its course and in time the white patches are not so bad they are not sore.

My 30 year old daughter has had it confirmed today that she also has LS after being treated for many years for thrush sad she has told many drs that I have LS and is it  possible that that is what she has and none of them have picked up on it until today when she saw a really lovely male gyno. So sad that she now has to deal with this to.
