Hemorrhoids and blood leaking through into underwear

Hi, I'm male and have been diagnosed with piles, and have been suffering for several years. The conditon is exagerated as i seem to have IBS. When I have wind and loose stools, i lose a lot of blood. I also lose a lot if it's a hard stool, as I had a fissure about 1 year ago. I've had one session of banding, which was unsuccessful. In fact I think it's made it worse.

Sorry for the detail..my big concern is that I start to leak blood after going to toilet, and the cleaning up process is taking a significant amount of time. I'm really worried that any leak will become visible, when I'm at work. Sometimes, it's almost like a discharge rather than pure blood, but not a mucus. I've had colonscopy etc, so i'm not concerned about it being something more sinister, but i'm really keen to find out if any others, have the same issue, any practical coping strategies or treatments for this.

thanks

Chris

Been there bud. Just had my surgery a few weeks ago n on the road to recovery but I bled so much before hand that I had the same concerns. Then one day I started feeling short of breath n always tired till I passed out going to the deer stand.. found out I was anemic from losing blood from my Hemms.. so had the surgery.. the best thing I found that worked well is the same thing the wife uses to block blood on her mommie days.. the pads.. n u can get them in different “holding capacities”.. they have an adhesive back to them as well so they stay put in your underwear.. kinda wierd at first but they don’t allow blood thru.. n I always kept a thing of baby wipes close to clean up with.. I dealt with this in Iraq as well but had an understanding medic that hooked me up.

The baby wipes I always kept near my ice block in my lunch pail or in the fridge as that cold helped things as well. N if possible I sat on a cold pack for awhile after a BM.. little things that helped me anyways

thanks for the replies, and apologies for the late reply myself. Yes, I became anemic a couple of years ago, my hg level was 8.0! I didn't even know, it got picked up for a coeliac test, by chance, there was close to calling me in for a transfusion! Scary stuff. Yes, i have borrowed some of my wife's pads etc, and wipes etc, but it's not a long term solution. So frustrating and is starting to get me down.

      thanks again for your replies.

Hey man I use to bleed a lot and I did bleed through my clothes at one point. I went to a few doctors and they told me I had hemorrhoids but gave me a cream and that was it. The cream didn’t help. I started to research stuff of why hemorrhoids seem to get worse for whatever reason. Caffeine seems to be the culprit and some foods I ate as well. I started to use the preparation h wipes which helped. Also when if you are a coffee drinker I out about half a teaspoon of coconut oil in the coffee to slow the absorption of the caffeine. The other thing I did was take a probiotic everyday. These things stopped the bleeding so not sure exactly what helped. It could be all of them together. If I do have a lot of sugary foods and junk I will bleed a little bit but not like before. I think it’s because of eating less fiber and the constipation make it harder to go and the straining causes the bleeding from the pressure. I couldn’t find much when I had it really bad so I hope this helps and gets you better.
