Hemorrhoids and rectal prolapse?

I have a rectal prolapse for years due to constipation issues caused from taking pain meds for an autoimmune disease. I also have hemorrhoids. I started having issues with the hemorrhoids last year after an abdominal hernia surgery. I was told not to get constipated and strained too hard. My question? Do any of you have a rectal prolapse and hemorrhoids and if so can you tell me about the surgery?
Thank you!

If you had your abd hernia a year ago, i would think that area should be healed. That being said .... Rectal prolapse & hemorrhoids are different. You should be very diligent in avoiding constipation & straining for sure. Generally there are 2 specific types of surgical repair for prolapse. The type done by your surgeon will dependent on a varity of factors, such as your age, your overall health, type & severity of autoimmune disease your experiencing, degree of prolapse to name a few of the factors. The two surgical treatments performed are either through the abdominal route or through the anus/rectum. You need to ask your doctor what type of surgical procedure will be done. Best of luck to you rhonda.

Thank you Parker. I was hesitate about posting. My health? It's not good at all. My autoimmune disease is called Behcets Disease. It's a vascular disease. It took me 5 months to get over my hernia surgery.
The doctors won't even do a colonoscopy on me due to the prolapse and my health. I also have a crushed vertebra in my lower back .
I wish there were other options besides surgery for this.

Thank you so much!!!! I am getting referred to a pelvic therapist to see if anything can tighten this early parts up!
Then afterwards I'm going to a Gastro doctor and I will surely mention Botox to him! Sure would be better than a surgery for me.
I have heard so many horrid stories about the rectal prolapse surgery that I am really afraid of having that done.

Yes, you are right. Truthfully, Most of my issues, when you get right down to it, can be fixed surgically so I really shouldn't complain. It's just with my autoimmune disease, I'm a slow heal. Plus where I live, and on Medicare the doctors don't want to do a colonoscopy for fear of puncturing my rectum.
This is TMI, but I did have a bit of bright red blood this morning after a BM. Of course I had someone to tel me they have bright red blood that pours. 😔

That's ok , I appreciate all your help. I have just had a bit of blood not too much. I'd flip if I had as much as you had. I talked to my doctor at length and he said if I. Am just manage the hemorrhoids then I could put off the surgery for the prolapse. Mine isn't quite as bad as some. The doctor gave me .0.2% nicrobid - nitroglycerin ointment. So we shall see!
Thanks again!
