I have just been diagnosed with 2cm sliding HH and after having the gastroscopy am in more pain than I was before is this normal?

Best to phone the clinic to ask the specialist or speak to your doctor if the pain persists.

Was the original pain heartburn? Is the increase in pain the same type of pain you had before? If this is the case, then the pain you have now is probably due to endoscope used to view the hernia. Perhaps it irritated your esophagus, especially if the new pain is in a higher location in your esophagus.
If think you should contact your doctor now.

Thanks. Pain is subsiding so I think it was from the endescope though just had a bad night with heartburn. I am now back on lanzoprazole
which I have managed not to take for the past 3 weeks
