Hernia pain and twinges

Ive just been recently diagnosed with 4 hernias 2 of which are inguinal(groin). I had both an ultrasound and a catscan . I presented at the ER one evening with low pelvic pain and since then was ordered the 2 tests. The pain wasnt severe ..more like dull and nagging but what concerned me was that I had it for 2 days straight.
Im now waiting on a referral to a specialist hoping in the meantime they do not strangulate. Im having dull pain still off and on and a few sudden stabs and twitches and a lot of abdominal gurgling. I wondered if this is normal with hernias..dull pain and twinges off and on?I have no idea of their sizes either.
Thanks.

Yes, all of what you are experiencing is typical. I would have described my symptoms the exact same way. I found that lying on my back was a great way to make the pain subside. This naturally reduces the hernias (puts them back where they belong). So sorry you are going through this. Best of luck!

Hi M,
Thanks so much for you're response. I was hoping someone would say it was typical of hernia problems lol.
I really am not too familiar on the subject even though I also suffer from acid reflux which I'm quite certain goes hand in hand. Yes I had read earlier about lying on your back which in essence makes sense as you described . I think it's called the supine position.
Well again, thankyou for your response and for your well wishes!
