Your text is very difficult to read, but if I a reading it correctly, it take 2-3 months to fully work into your origins. Do not do anything to upset the progress. Mine worked in very nicely.

It's over a year for me and I still have various pains and strange feelings. This is following double inguinal surgery.

I've hardly had any length of time without some challenges. Recently consulted a pelvic PT for help.  Also just had a UTI and fungal infection from an unknown source.  Could the mesh be responsible?  Been really sad to deal with all this.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cursed Boy,

What type of Hernia repair did you have done? (Inguinal is quite common) .

Would you happen to know the type of mesh used (surgeons report or theatre report should show this).

What exactly are you experiencing (I'm guessing pain)?

When did you have the Hernia repaired?

Inguinal (open) repair for me a year ago now. First couple of weeks were hard then started getting better week by week. Was at least 3 months before I felt healing was well on the way then 6 months before I started to 'forget' I'd had it done. It's been a year now and apart from the odd twinge if I'm maybe over tired it's all good and nothing like the constant nagging of having the hernia. I went private with a hernia specialist in London, UK.

      Hi Scarymonster,

Can I ask where you had your surgery done? Was it open mesh?

Glad it worked well for you!

      Cheers

Hi David, the consultant was Mr Martin Kurzer at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth at St. John's Wood, London. He used open mesh tension-free technique and is a hernia specialist working exclusively on hernias (which is what I was looking for rather than a general surgeon although I am sure there are many fine general surgeons). This is not a recommendation for my surgeon you would need to speak with him, do you own research and make your own mind up if you understand what I mean. Feel free to ask any further questions or msg me.

Sorry about your mesh surgery problem, I had the same issue and had my mesh out. If you can look back on my previous posts it has not been an easy ride. I am still having issues. Feel free to chat.

I had laparoscopic bilateral inguinal hernia repair with mesh. The post-op pain receded after 3-days. I was walking around the house on day one, with minor pain, and was able to walk outside for a half mile on day 3. Each day I walked further, and further with less and less pain, until day 18 when I resumed playing golf pain free.

    Hope you get better soon.

I'm so sorry for your horrible situation . Unfortunately I have no good news . I had a inguinal hernia repair 2 1/2 years ago which they also did a mesh plug . In hindsight I wish I would of never had it . Surgeon was in a hurry and bypassed a nerve . Right away I knew something was wrong but was told to just wait . Surgeon moved out of state and now no other sugeond will touch me . Trying to raise a child and work with this pain is almost unbearable . Just had my third nerve injection . No help . Been through so much now the only option is to manage my pain with narcotics which is not helping either . My advice for you is that you are able to find a good surgeon who will listen to you . I wish the best for you . Be very assertive when taliking  to doctors . Good luck

If u are talking about regular hernia, I don't know.  Had many friends that had them and did well.  If you are talking about Hiatal Hernia (which I had), I was told 12 weeks of 10 pd weight limit ---but could ride my horse in 3 weeks at a walk?!?!?!?!
