Hi guys
I did write a few months ago had a fall of a chair at work resulted in an annular tear on L4 an L5 July 2015 it's going to be 1 year tomorrow and last September I has surgery cancelled and all medical assistance paused as my iod was frozen it was approved last month and I managed to see my neuro again after so much agony and pain and popping pills my problem now is my neuro suspects further damage from l5 down and has requested scans again I am so angry with how I was treated by my company do u think I have a case of medical negligence in the sense that I was denied medical treatment due to them not following protocol as I would have maybe avoided further damage and no I have numbness on my upper left back region I'm not sure what is going on I'm so depressed and life has just gone downhill for me financially and emotionally.
I'm so scared of sugary as I have read some posts about people still suffering after surgery and I have been banking on surgery to help.
I'm only 31 and I'm under pressure from all sides along with the fact that I still want more babies and haven't even married yet my question is what if?

Hi thank you for your reply
i lost my job as was dismissed by the NHS as was waiting surgery and it kept being cancelled,it was their fault by providing the stupid chair and the whole saga was horrid, mainly due to management,I have solicitor on the case.
surgery was okay,me a nurse(was)and the biggest wimp going,I have very good home support ,I hope you get yours sorted out where do u live,I'm ukgood consultant,I'm doing reasonably well biggest decision I had to make was to stop my nursing,I have been given ill health retirement,it would be extremely risky to return to any form of nursing,I'm lucky that I nursed for 40 years(I reflected in pension,I paid in late as had the children.Anyhow enough of

It wasn't fair for them to dismiss you despite it being their negligence but I'm not sure how it works in the UK I'm in South Africa here companies are protected by a law process called IOD injured on duty so what happens is the company logs an IOD for the employee in order for all medical expenses to be paid from the compensation fund by the government but it's assistance slow process and my problem was that my company didn't want to log the iod and told me to use medical aid which intern rejected my bills at the hospital and had surgery cancelled and because of that I'm still at home awaiting surgery yesterday was 1year since I fell was so depressed I'm glad you have good home care but I also hope you are taking the NHS up and holding them liable for your damages over here because of company delay it cud be called medical negligence due to witholding medical treatment which resulted in further damage I can't slp I'm in pain constantly but I have to wait til 2nd August to see doc again

Yes! If you live in the USA you may have a good legal case against your employer, but the laws in each state are different. Where do you live? You should consult with a "Board Certified Personal Injury" lawyer as soon as possible because there's a deadline for when you can sue. Most "Personal Injury" lawyers do not charge anything for the initial meeting so don't worry about that. My husband is handling a chair injury case similar to yours and may know a good lawyer that specializes in these kind of accidents in your area that can help you.
Don't be afraid of the surgery. Mine went great and I was back to walking 2 miles in 2 weeks.

Hi hun
Thank you for reply I'm hoping surgery will help I have nothing else left med not so helpful anymore. I'm in South Africa and there are some stupid laws that actually protect companies from being sued by employers but my case was negligence as they didn't want to help and pushed me aside to sort myself out but when I needed a nerve root block and medical refused to pay it that's when the company reacted.
Ended up delaying the whole process for me and life has been on hold for a year now I lost out financially.
