I have recently been told I have genital herpes. I have only ever been with 1 person sexually. Have I definetely gotten it from them? Is there any other possible way I could have gotten it?

If you have ONLY been with 1 person...and have genital herpes, yes that one person is the only person that could have given it to you....now to be real technical...because herpes is transmitted skin to skin, if you ONLY HAD sex with 1 person BUT have been rubbing genital areas with "others" (idk why w/o intervourse BUT) and one of the "others" have HSV 1 or 2 in the genitals, they to, can transmit the disease....
However, are you sure you have genital herpes?
Type of testing did you take? How were you diagnosed?

There has literally only been one person. I was not exactly tested for herpes they just kind of assumed that's what was wrong so I took their word for it, they never even done a swab.

Definitely get an IgG test, you'll have to requests this, you don't want and IgM test... unless you have what you think may be a symptom (lesion, blister, etc ) swan for accurate result...
