I have never had a outbreak like this since I had chicken pox at 19. We had sex on a Tuesday and afterward I had problems urinating. The next day I felt like I was getting a uti. It started burning when I urinated and I felt like I was getting a yeast infection also. I started monostat and it helped for a day or two then I started getting sores on my vulva. The burning and pain was to much to handle so I went to my primary care Dr. She did an exam and told my I had herpes. Can herpes lay dormant over thirty years? I have autoimmune disease amoung other things and just don't think herpes is possible. What do i do? I trust my husband but this may end my marriage.

Hi, pat09998
Maybe you're too worried and hopeless now, but you should think optimistically. It's normal for herpes thrives over time. As you had chicken pox at 19, the virus stayed forever in your body. Then, it revives when metting triggers. You told that you had autoimmune disease, it can be one of the triggers for herpes. Due to stress, weakened immune system and diseases, the virus can come back. Having herpes isn't as bad as you think. Lots of people get it nowadays. You can have a conversation with your husband and ask him about it gently. It's also important to treat herpes as soon as possible. Your Dr may recommend antiviral medications for the infection. Hope you better soon.

I treated it woth acyclovir and everyday I take vitamin c and zinc. I also avoid foods that's rich in argenine and everyday I bath with salt, baking soda and apple cider I mix it all together and soothe my sores for 15minutes and after I gp tp work I apply some tea tree oil and It really helped a lot. My 1st outbreak laated for 9days and my problem now isI don't know how to tell it to my fiancee. I don't know how to tell it without sounding that i'm blaming him but you need to consider his feelings too.

I have no itching at all but I do have a uti. I also had a gastric bypass and have to watch for malnutrition. I just don't think herpes could be dormant that long with all I have. I guess I'm in denial. I just don't see it.

it has happend whether you don't want. Now, thing you need is treating herpes. You should ask your Dr about treatment. As my roommate used to apply prosurx and it worked well for her within 4 days, you can ask your dr about the cream. Or your dr may prescribe acyclovir, valtrex to take. You also prevent herpes outbreaks with them. Don't forget to talk with your husband gently and know his feelings.
