Herpes blood test negative?

Hi all hope everyone is somewhat enjoying their new years. This is not my first post but wanted some insight/advice.
This all started 5 months ago. 2 days after unprotected sex with my on and off again girlfriend I found a bump on my shaft. Not sure if it would be considered a blister or not as it didn't have any fluid but i applied abreeva for oral herpes. Didn't hurt either but after a week it scabbed a little. I told my ex to get tested and she turned up positive for hsv1 and hsv2 two times. Both were IGG and hsv2 was above 7.
2 weeks later I developed signs of balanitis. Went to the dr and she said it doesnt look like herpes and refused to give me anti body test. at 16 weeks i went back because my condition was not improving, she then referred me to a dermatologist. After inspection, 3 dermatologist came in to look at my symptoms of balanitis. All said does not look like herpes but because I possibly have been exposed by me ex they finally decided to give me a blood test. At this point I am at least 19 weeks into a possible exposure. 9 days later I got a call from the dermatologist who saw me and said I was negative for hsv2 and syphilis. Just to add I have been HSV1 + since I was 8 and they were aware of this. That was also confirmed with the recent test.
I asked the Dr what type of test this was and she said IGG. I asked about numeric values but she told me this doesn't have any. It gives a yes or no answer.
My question is, at 5 months, would this be considered conclusive? My dr said yes but Ive been reading the internet the past 5 months and some ppl take longer. some even a year. pre existing HSV1 also causes a slight delay but Ive read only a couple weeks.
Does anyone have input on this? Please share id really appreciate it
thank you!

Thx. But I'm pretty skeptical of the results from all that Ive read. IM still hanging on to hope but this ordeal is driving me crazy. I hope u come up negative on the western blot. Do u have numeric values to your IGG test? For some reason I was told mine didn't have any. It was a yes or no answer IGG

Thank you for the kind words! Actually, all HSV IgG tests have index values. That's how the lab knows whether to classify the results as positive, equivocal or negative. However, some labs choose not to report the index values, for whatever reason, only reporting the classifications (i.e. what the index values mean). Nothing to do with the test.
