Herpes but I'm not sure

Hey everyone...Few days ago I got this outbreak which looks like herpes but I'm not yet sure.

So the story goes like this: I have this new boyfriend (2 months now already) which I;m so desperatly in love with. Last weekend we went to a hotel where we had unprotected sex (we always have unprotected sex actually). That day I shaved in the genital area and cut myself with the razor a bit( new razor btw) and then we went to the hotel, had sex everything fine till the morning. In the morning I started to have some itching and tought it was from that cut. The next day it got so much worse..like this whole irritation I have looks a lot like herpes and it hurts like hell, also when I pee and basiclly I have all the symptoms for herpes(tomorrow I'll go to the doctor to be sure). So I asked my boyfriend today if something simmilar happend to him in the past and he said no... so now I'm in this big dillema...I'm also sure he hasn't cheated on me cus we've been together like the whole time...And I just don't know what to think I'm kind of desperate..help me please...

my best advice is to just get it checked out. Don't worry yourself

I'm thinking, if it is, from what I know the incubation time is between 2 and 10 days, so since I'm quite sure he hasn't cheated on me, how could it be possible for me to take it from him NOW and not before?

Hi Dizzy! I went through the same thing. I thought my outbreak was a result of my shaving. I waited almost a week before getting it checked out because of this. Everyday what I believed to be a "rash" got worse. I had to run to the doctor Monday. My partner didn't have any symptoms either. Sometimes what also happens is that the symptoms are so faint they don't realize it. Whichever way it goes things will be okay. Wishing you the best!

So you got it from your partner? As I repied to noelle, from what I've read the incubation time is between 2 and 10 days, so as we've had sex before and I haven't got it before, is it possible that let's say...10 days ago he cheated on me and got it and now I've got it too?

I've been having sex with my partner unprotected for months. It is indeed a tricky thing. I don't know how to put it medically..but I just look at it like I got unlucky. It's like a hit and miss thing if they don't have an outbreak. You may or may not get it. I personally didn't just have a random breakout. I had to think back and maybe you should. In August I had burning and I thought it was a yeast infection. Now I realize that it wasn't. But the only way to make sure of what's wrong is to go to the doctor. Trust me you won't have peace of mind until then.

herpes is tricky. I had it and didn't know until recently and the man I was seeing for the past 2 years whom I was having unprotected sex with and on no medication obviously and he tested negative ... So it can happen anytime...

I know it's hard news to hear. How are you holding up? Have you spoken to your boyfriend about it yet?

Pfff... I feel kind of cursed or something. Numb...not even depressed... I felt depressed in the morning but now I feel just numb...lost...something like an walking infection... I talked with my boyfriend, told him the "big news" and well he says he still hasn't got any symptoms, so we're really confused how could this happen now. Like...I never had anything...maybe some itching caused by Candida but that was only when I took antibiotics... he never had anything, none of his girlfriends ever had anything... I'm so damn confused how could this happen...

Well... atleast I'm happy with SOMETHING... after telling him the news I just couldn't help but make something like a joke like " Well, now we'll have to stick together for the rest of our lifes to make sure we won't contaminate anyone else" and he said that really wouldn't be a bother for him. He's so supportive, I just hope he won't leave me now cus if he does I'm surely gonna be 100% desperate.

I make jokes about mine too. It helps me not be too down about it. I do hope you guys can stay long term. And as for whether you gave it to him or not I have no idea. Did you get a blood test or culture to see if it's HS1 OR HS2?

not yet... after the doctor confirmed I just asked her a few questions she prescribed something and then I just wanted to run from there since I was with my mother and she kept on being so...depressing and annoying. Now she totally blames my boyfriend for it and she's like..so not supportive and makes me feel even worse. I'll go on monday with my boyfriend to see if it's 1 or 2

Hmm now it just came to me. In july I had this pimple like something on the corner of my mouth. It was really bad, like it didn't heal for something like 1 week and a half, and looked worse than a pimple (I tought it wouldn't heal because it was on the corner of my mouth and I kept on breaking it while eating). Anyhow, it passed, I was completly healed when I met my boyfriend. Could it be that it was then that I made mouth herpes and it only remained latent in my body, and then I passed it to my boyfriend, so he passed it back to me through oral sex, considering that last weekend when it stared I had that cut and we both had a cold??
