Herpes genitally

So I had unprotected sex September 17th. About 5 weeks later I went to he std clinic for testing because I had a bad itch and red areas on my scrotum. Then i talked to the nurse she wanted me to get tested for herpes because I had some bumps on my pubic hair but I recently shavedd a week or two before that. About that time I've been experiencing chills and bad headaches. I got all my results back and it was negative. About a week later my legs started to hurt and twitch then my back and but started doing the same. Then my anus started to hurt but all I could see is red areas. Then that stopped for about a week then it started again with all the pains and headaches then my anus started hurting again and I noticed a red bumps in my anus. It doesn't hurt all the time but everyone and then it hurts. Also my thighs feel like they're burning but I don't see anything. Now I'm still having chill headaches and body aches. I went to the doctor and they said leg pain and twitching have nothing to do with herpes but I'm reading online that a lot of people are having this situation. Does this sound like herpes to anyone

Sorry to hear about what you're going through. I was diagnosed with herpes about 4 days ago and currently getting over an outbreak. I didn't get my results back until after I had already startes going through my outbreak. Its funny that you mention leg pain because days before my outbreak I had bad nerve pain in the back of both my legs but the left leg hurt worse. I've been in a faithful relationship for 3 years now and I just got diagnosed which could mean I've had it for a very long time. I would suggest getting some more tests done. After doing my research I believe that newer infections take a while to show up on blood results because the body has to build antibodies. Good luck with everything

This month I got diagnosed. The doctor asked me when I was getting tested if I began to have shooting pain or nerve pain in the back of my legs. I said no. He was so sure it was herpes with no test he said "not yet" as in I will. My ob lasted a horrific 2 weeks. The begining of the second week I started experiencing weak muscles the back of my legs and butt muscles started getting weak and I did in fact start experiencing the shooting pains and some would go all the way from my butt to my ackeles. In my opinion from doing nothing but reading about HSV it does sound like you have a few main symptoms. I would definitely get tested again. Now if you have a rash or any tyoe of bump they can swab it and you will have solid results with in 1 week. Blood tests sometimes don't show up for upto 6 months I've heard. BOL

Not necessarily. Only some people get twitching and nerve involvement, not many, so that's not a given by any means (yet so many people fearing genital herpes will cite this as a symptom). You also didn't test till 5 weeks, so if that's when you developed symptoms, that's pretty late for a first outbreak.
