herpes infection

Hello everyone,

63 days ago i had a sexual contact with a woman and we contacted our genital areas.Since then i am afraid i have contracted genital herpes. No signs or symptoms appeared on the area. The blood test i did after 53 days from the exposure is negative for both hsv1, hsv2.Last week i visited two doctors. The first told me that he is 1000% sure that i haven't contracted herpes, the second told me to wait 15 days more and if nothing appears then there is no herpes at all.But i read on the internet that it may be months or years after the first symptoms appear. What to believe? i am frustrated. Please i need desperately your replies.

u should wait until u have symptoms of herpes before actually testing for it because if u test whilst having no symptoms u will just get a negative result unless u get sores etc i wouldnt bother as soon as u get signs of herpes then u should have them swabbed rather than have a blood test a swab is considered more reliable

But can i wait a whole life until the first signs appear? To mention that only our pubic areas touched there were no penetration and i was condomed

most people get symptoms that they have it i have hsv1 and had symptoms within a couple of months some people get symptoms within a few days everyones different i guess

the chances of u having it are probably quite low i mean do u even know if the person had herpes ?

Dear kim thank you very much for your replies.I don't know if the woman we touched our pubic areas had genital herpes.I think she may had, and i try to see if i have contracted herpes because i read on internet that herpes is extremely contagious.

I would not worry about it and assume u dont have herpes unless u get symptoms that u actually have it ..it could be she never has herpes in the first place herpes is contagious mainly when sores are present but u can get herpes when there are no sores there are the virus shedds the risk is lower u could be worrying over nothing there comes a point were when u keep getting a negative test result that u have to accept that result whether that is negative or positive

if you are bot having any symptoms or visible sores what make you think you have herpes?

Maybe all those i read on the net and the long period it gets to show up.It seems that every time we have sex or a genital area touch we need to wait for 10 years into all that paranoia to be sure.

u dont need to wait 10 years if u have no symptoms of ever having herpes then u dont have herpes until u have symptoms there is no point testing for it

I only want to be sure.If i have herpes and don't know about it, i may transmit it to a woman?isn't that bad?it will be devastating for me.The other option is the abstinence. No sex, no flirting, no love, no kisses, nothing at all.

Abstinence for 10 years at least.

yes i have done blood test.Igg and Igm antibodies for both hsv1 and hsv2 and both are negative, 53 days after the exposure

what im trying to explain is if u have no symptoms of herpes in the first instance or 53 days after exposure if u take another test with still no symptoms that test is going to be the same result negative the chance is u dont have it until u have any kind of symptom theres no point taking another test in 15 days as that test will also be negative its not going to change unless u got sores or spots in the mean time

yes my dear friend i understood. i dont have symptoms, blood tests are negative so i dont have herpes or i have it in a latent form and i wont be sure when the first outbreak will happen? And an outbreak is needed for a blood test to turn positive?

ye ideally if u notice and sores and any symptoms of an outbreak u should go and get them swabbed for a more accurate result

If i can't get a definite answer i can't calm down.I can't be on a doudt eternally waiting for an outbreak to happen! I can't function sexually if i suspect myself to be an hsv carrier.I am gonna be crazy at the end.You know if you think that you have hiv you do a 4th generation test after 4-6 weeks and if it turns back negative you are sure that you don't have hiv.You don't have to wait until the first ever outbreak will happen. With hsv the whole thing is totally absurd. Finally we all gonna be monks.Who is gonna have sex with anybody if he doesn't know he has hsv or not.To have an outbreak will be the better thing in life because you finally know what happens.

lots of people have hsv1 and 2 and live a perfectly normal life and sex life with no problems at all having herpes does not mean never having sex or kissing again given the fact u dont know for sure if the person u had sex with actually has herpes it could all just be paranoia until u ever have an outbreak u wont know your test results are negative which means u do not have it so move on with life

and with response to the question who is going to have sex with someone if they dont know if they have hsv or not .....you did ...did u not ask her hsv status before having sex ??

No i didn't even know about all this thing.I thought stds are hiv, syphilis, gonorea and chlamydia.i discovered herpes on the net searching more informations about hiv which is hard to transmit but all the others are highly contagious.syphilis gonorea and chlamydia are cured with only one injection of penicilin.HCV,HSV,HBV, and the others have no cure at all.

And condoms are absolutely useless against 90% of stds
