Herpes or something else?

Hi whoever reads this,

I have no visible lesions but have felt a persistant itch in my genital area for months, including anus. I was recently diagnosed with balanitis however doctors said that it weren't linked to herpes.

Although the doctors have said this I am writing in the hopes of being able to get a more definitive answer from someone who has experienced herpes.

The question I'm trying to ask is:

Is a persistant genital itch with no other symptoms a sign of herpes?

hey man! i can say that ive experienced the itch as well. its been coming on to a year of me having had sex with someone. just got tested for herpes and came back negative. going to see my primary care physician next so he can direct me further. id just recommend getting another test if you feel like you need extra confirmation. you'd experience the burning while peeing sensation, the bumps that hurt/blisters, aches and all in your groin area if you had herpes. But listen, these diseases are so tricky man, almost makes me want to never have sex honestly lmao. youre good though, don't stress yourself out over a "what if" get your confirmation from the medical professionals and their tests. it just cancels out the stress a lot. Have faith and be safe too man! i hope in some way this message helps
