Herpes or Yeast Infection | 6 Days

Last year after abstaining from sex I got a full workup done I was positive for HSV-1 (40.36) which I knew already because I had gotten a cold sore once as a kid and havent gotten another since (10 years and counting) and negative for HSV-2. I just recently had sex with a guy 6 days ago, when he went down on me it was unprotected (5 days after sex) now since yesterday I have been feeling pain in my vagina, sometimes its localized to the right side and sometimes it moves to the left side. I have white discharge which I am certain is a yeast infection, everytime I have sex after a long period of time I always get one and my period is basically here (I have an IUD but still get the mood swings, cramps, acne, etc every month). I generally dont let guys go down on me and the guy he claims that he was blood tested as well and everything was negative but I can't help but to think this is herpes. I have severe anxiety and when I started to feel the throbbing and dryness in my vagina I started swabbing myself with alcohol which didnt help. Now my skin in senstive to touch, I keep taking pictures every hour wondering if I will see the redness or any blisters. All I see sometimes is the white discharge, no inflammation, no flu like symptoms, no swollen lymph nodes so now Im wondering if maybe my HSV-1 was asymptomatic, he went down on me after kissing me and possibly passed it to me genitally. Its the only thing I can think of, I think maybe thats why I dont see blisters yets because my body is fighting the virus as we speak, ive been taking a bunch of vitamins AHCC, Grape Seed, Lysine, Apple Cider Vinegar. Praying and hoping that its all in my head sometimes i get pains in my buttocks which makes me feel like its a matter of time before i get an outbreak. Whats worse is if I dont  see blisters i still have to play the waiting game and wait till 12 weeks before my results will be accurate. I keep researching because some ppl dont get blisters and still have the virus or they dont have flu-like symptoms and still have the virus, I just dont know what to do. Im constatly checking my temperature to see if I have a low grade fever, I havent eaten or slept and Im wondering how long it will take before I can finally relax just a little. I read that after the burning and tingling sensations it takes 12-48 hours for blisters to appear and so far its been 20 hours since the burning started and still no bumps or blisters.  But then Ive seen people say that their blisters appeared 4-5 days later, Im not sure at what point I should feel like maybe the dryness and pain is from the yeast infection. I was irritated yesterday and then i used a drying soap but I also dont want to lie to myself when this could be more serious, I just wanted to know if anyone ever experienced herpes without the flu-like symptoms or the blisters and how long did it take. I know that my anxiety is what is causing me to feel the throbbing sensation even more because when i take my mind off of it or when i sleep i dont feel any pain, as soon as i wake up its like the pain starts all over again and I just feel like its just a matter of time.

I am going through the EXACT same thing exactly. From the symptoms down there to freaking myself out and this has been going on for a 2 months now. Got a yeast infection right after exposure and to this day I did not have any lesions but I keep having that burning feeling well I have it again now and I do not know like if this could be the herpes or another yeast infection. I got tested for herpes at the 6 week point but it came back negative I am going in a month to get retested for it will be 3 months and it will be actually most accurate, even though that came back negative I still have the worst anxiety that I could be one that shows it is negative but it is not. Hearing that someone else is going through the exact same symptoms makes me think maybe it is just us over thinking but then what if it could be something more I keep thinking.

Hi Asia, I just got tested a few months ago for hsv2 and mine came back positive. I'm very paranoid about it and I've been getting the same throbs. No flu like symptoms no burning and I haven't experienced an outbreak yet. It's been almost 3 months and still no blister or anything. My doctor said I'm just paranoid about it all.

I am following this thread cause I have the same symptoms and I am confused on your response, you said you tested positive for type 2 but you said you have no burning just the same throb? and then you mentioned that your doctor said you are paranoid so does the doctor say you are just paranoid you have it or what do you mean?

Hey Michelle, yes I am positive for hsv2. Every once in a while I get a throb, but I've never had a outbreak. I talked to my doctor about the throb and she checked me out and said it's nothing. She told me I was just paranoid about having hsv2.

Mine was only a few days. It's like a heart beat almost is how mine felt. Not all day just every once in a while I would feel it. I'm new to all of this as well, like I have stated I've never had an outbreak. I think I'm a carrier of it to be honest with you

YOu say you think you are a carrier of it but I thought you said you are positive for it? And oh mine is just a burning sensation the whole time was it also like that?

It's in my blood my test results came back positive for hsv2. The reason I say I think I'm a carrier is because I never had an outbreak. My throb wasnt a burning sensation, it was like a heartbeat. I've never had a blister, sore, a rash or any of that. I just know that my test results came back positive. This is all new to me as well, I'm still learning too. I may have an outbreak i don't know, I do know I've haven't experienced it one so far.

See mine is just a burning pain the whole time it sort of appers when I have the yeast infection so I am thinking its from that but at the same time I dont think so cause I have had never had that pain before and I have had so many yeast infections I would be able to tell a difference.

Hey guys this is asia34279, I created my account and actually cant remember which email address that I used. I dont like using my regular email addresses when I post on boards but I wanted to give an update. Today was more itchiness, random pains on both my left and right side of my vagina (only happened a few times today and they were only for 1-2 minutes max), and more white discharge. I am now past 48 hours since the initial throbbing and itchiness and still no lesions. I still check my temperature every hour and try to take Lysine and ACV pills every couple of hours. Even though i dont have any lesions I have this new symptom where different parts of my body start become irritated, turn red and then the redness just disappears. It has happened on my left leg, right leg, shoulder, and neck and honestly has me freaking out again,  I also feel like my throat is becoming sore. Im now waiting for the 60 hour mark which will alleviate some of my anxiety (this will be around 11am Saturday). I finally broke down today and talked to a family member about everything, they helped me understand that the more anxiety I bring to this situation the more the "symptoms will appear" and they actually gave me a pill to sedate me which I just took because I still cant sleep and I tend to pace the floor all night long. I will make it my duty to update this post even if only one person looks at it. I havent found any posts that I can relate too and trust me I have spent days on every single blog I can find, because everyone is different its so hard to not feel alone in all of this.

michelle32585> I am praying for you and hope that your next test is negative as well. Given that your 6 week test was negative and you still havent seen any lesions I feel like this is a good thing. I am just counting down the days till I reach day 21, since most outbreaks occur between day 2-20.

Did you get checked for a yeast infection that sounds like a severe yeast infection? As for the other areas are you actually seeing rashes in the different areas or do you just feel sensations because that could be your anxiety making it seem like there is something when there is nothing. I am exactly like you I basically had panic attacks whenever I would feel symptoms and it would just make it seem like it is that much worse. It is terrible I still have really bad anxiety over it it got a little better after the 6 week mark but I am just scared I am one of those people that do not show antibodies till the later mark, so I have been praying that I am that rare chance that did not catch it. Thank you asia24280 really means a lot to hear someone say they looking out for me and I am doing the same with you, from what you have described it seems like what I had a terrible yeast infection and I thought of it to be more. I mean I still think it is but I had 2 doctors tell me I dont need to retest I should be negative if it showed that at 6 weeks and I did not get an outbreak within 2 weeks, but I feel like they just say that so you do not worry anymore. Keep me updated on everything and I will do the same if it helps.
