Ive been ill all week with what my said said was the flu. I cant remember when it started but i have got really excruituating blisters around my anys and vagina. They are soo painful and very itchy and the area is wet. I can hardly walk! Right this minute, i have put some sea salt in a warm bath to try and soothe it. I think this must be herpes as the blisters are now bursting and are turnung red.

How long does it nornally take to clear up because im going on holiday in two weeks! Ive also got to go back to work on wednesday and im a waitress so thas alot of walking about! Is there anything else i could do to hurry the healing process??

I had "flu" symptoms as well last friday/saturday. I had a fever, chills, aches everything. I started with one "bug bite" looking thing in my vulva when it suddenly turned into all my right side of my lips. And up by my clitorous. They popped and I'm in very much a lot of pain. They said it lasts 1-2 weeks. Mine has been a week. And it seems its slowly healing. I do a lot of walking as well. Constant non stop for 10 hours its painful. Go see your doctor and get valtrex, if you have it, the sooner you get checked the better they can help you good luck

I would try to go see your doctor. Your doctor can take a look and give you a visual diagnosis and a swab to see what type of herpes you have. The only way to speed up the process is to take valtrex, rest, and avoid alcohol or other stressors that might prolong your symptoms.

The only problem is that i cant see a doctor till monday because they shut on the weekend which sucks! Ive had a salt bath which has made no difference but i will carry on having them twice a day to try to soothe it. God this is the worst thing ever especially if it takes around 2 weeks to heal!

I know the feeling hun. My doctor told me to try abbreva or orajel because it acts as a numbing solution and to put on your sores. And I had to just go to my emergency room Because I absolutely could not take it. Also, try some baby rash cream that helps a lot. I was told to try to keep it as dry as possible but that seems impossible being where it's at

Ive used sudacream so wether that helps or not i dont know. Im also on antibiotics aswell that the doctor prescribed for my sore throat so i guess if theres any infection it will clear it up. Im hoping this will get better by wednesday at least. I cant sit without figeting from how itchy it is!

The itchiness was the least of my worries it's the pain and blistering that's killing me now. Plus I had a uti so that made it that much worse going to the bathroom. I hope nothing but the best for you and hopefully the pain will let up

I can empathise with you SO well, I have just recovered from my first outbreak and let me tell you it was HELL from the moon and back. Like another user mentioned here, the itching was also the least of my worries as I was more in pain than anything, but I found putting a small cold/semi-frozen towel down there helped so much with the burning that even the itching was soothed. Give that a try, it's worth seeing if it works for you. I was diagnosed with HSV-1 and as soon as I was showing signs of blistering I went in to get checked, the sooner they test you the better. I truly do hope you'll recover from this soon, all the best on your process smile

Topical lidocaine and/or oral acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain relief, and Epsom salt sitz baths to help hasten drying/healing. Keep up your liquid intake and keep the area dry. A first outbreak can take around 3 weeks to fully heal, but should feel much better after the 2 week mark.

So as an update to you that might help. I bought some orajel for mouth sores, canker sores, dentures etc. I put it all over the area. It numbed it. I can sit comfortably and also, I've learned if you squat over the toilet the urine will go directly down instead of hitting your sores/ulcers. Really try the orajel though. It did a miracle for me

I bought some bath salts with eucolyptus so hopefully that might do something. The area is so infected with pus leaking out, its disgusting and the pain is horrendous! Can you get orajel from anywhere or just from the doctors?

If this takes two-3 weeks to heal then god knows what im going to do whilst im on holiday😤Is swimming safe??

I would go to a local place that sells any kind of medical anything. It's supposed to be used for your mouth but it works for a numbing solution and it's 100% safe to use down there. And GO SWIMMING. My worst days were last Saturday and sunday. I went swimming both days. I thought the chlorine would kill but, the coldness of the water was soooo relieving for me. That's why people have been saying to use ice packs. Or even heating packs if that works better. Make sure to use a towel so it doesn't get too cold down there. And i feel you. The pain is excruciating and it's utterly disgusting to me also. But it's not that bad. Just a first outbreak and it's more like a skin condition than an std. You know my doc told me the herpesvirus lays In your spinal area just like chicken pocs and shingles. It's more of a skin condition than an std. It's only labeled so because of course it's sexually transmitted.

So after going to a&e last night, she looked and said it looks like herpes but to go to the sexual health clinic. So i am here right now. Theyve looked at my infected area, and said it definitely looks like herpes so are giving me antiviral medication and a numbing gel. They are also doinga retest for chlamydia since i had that in may😤

The good news is that they have said this should be cleared in 2-3 days
