Herpes outbreaks nightmare!!

I was diagnosed with herpes hsv2 in November 2014 six months ago and I have had at least seven outbreaks since. I don't know what to do?i wanted to try and stay away from suppressive therapy because I wanted my body to try and fight the virus instead but now I'm not sure I can handle it. Even when I don't have an outbreak skin is always sore and itchy, is this normal? I've been to my local clinic a number of times but to be honest I don't think they care much nice been given so much different information by different doctors. I want to speak with anybody that has experienced similar symptoms to me or someone who has managed to keep the outbreaks at bay. This is a really horrible disease. I wake up and it's the first thing I think of and when I go to bed it's the last thing I think of. I just want to get my life back to normal. Does the outbreaks get better over time? I know it's only been six months but I don't know how much more I can take! Xx

I have had the same symptoms as you for the same amount of time and I hate taking pharmaceuticals as well but in this case do yourself a favour and try Acyclovir (Virogon) tablets and Virogon cream, it will stop the irritation and reduce the severity of the signs, symptoms and the duration of the outbreak. There is only so much your body can do to fight this virus so give it a bit more of a chance by using this stuff. Hope this helps and try to keep it in perspective it's just a virus and shouldn't consume your every thought.
Cheers,

I share your horror on this damn herpes thing.Let me share with you my experience.
I hope this helps, but I cant guranttee it works for you.
I have had herpes for about 6 years cursing myself for unprotected sex, with outbreaks on and off about once every 2 months especially when on alcohol, peanuts and chocs which seems to be the triggers. some are so painful and severe, that I cant sleep and takes 2 weeks to heal up. then it starts all over again after some time,
I have been searching high and low for a cure, unfortunately there was nothing in the internet except conman advertisements and all the advise to eat and exercise properly, home remedies and all this didnt work at all. There is no cure according to the doctors!
anyway, I been on Acyclovir and all kinds of stuff.
After doing some intensive research, I decided to try soursop leaves.
I dont think this is available in the UK, but I suppose you can get the processed type. In my country I just pluck the young leaves dry them on a frying pan and blender them. After that boil a small handful of blendered dry leaves in 3 large bowls of water and slow boil till water is evaporated to approximately 2 bowls remaining around 1.5 liters
Have been drinking this for 6 months , from morning to bedtime as if it was water! Take when you can everyday! It makes you feel real sleepy. Anyway its tasteless except for the herbal smell but I found it pleasant.
And the good news is I have not have an attack for the past 2 years. I have stopped drinking the concortion since.
I hope it works for you too.
Benny

They say stay away from peas, chocolates, oates, peanuts and minimum caffeine and alcohol and minimum wheat products. Have alkaline diet not acidic and try not to stress. My body hasn't made the HSV antibodies yet, it's 10 months now since I first got it so that's why I keep getting it all the time. Everyday I get bad headache, abdo/pelvic pain and vulva pain so you can imagine how sick I am with it. Not sure if I can get soursop or leamon balm leaves here in Australia. Anyway, good luck Courtney and hope you get better soon, as for me I hope my body will make antibodies one day so it fight this horrible virus.

From what I know and have read, valacyclivor seems to be the go-to drug of choice for continued suppressive therapy. Dosage is typically 1000mg a day for very frequent outbreaks (>10 per year), or 500mg a day for moderately frequent outbreaks (~5 per year).
Valacyclivor (and possibly the other two GH antiviral meds) requires you to remain hydrated, so ensure your water intake is good. If you also suffer from herpetic urethritis, like I did, this is even more important! Adding baking soda to water can further help reduce urine acidity/burning, if this is an issue.
Despite what many websites and people claim, there is no scientific proof that certain foods are good/bad for GH. However, there is no harm in trying! Same goes for lysine and zinc supplements.
You can also consider drinking various herbal teas, in particular lemon balm, liquorice root, St. John's wort and echinacea, possibly turmeric (or the latter as a food additive). I sometimes like to add honey to my tea.
For down below, occasionally rinsing with warm/cool water throughout the day (like when on the toilet) may help, or soaking in an epsom salt bath, which many here swear by. Applying *diluted* tea tree oil is both antiseptic and temporarily cooling/soothing.
Anyway, just some ideas, although I'm sure you've probably come across or tried these before.
Good luck!!
