Yes it does look like herpes, so good that you got it swabbed. Keep in mind that for a new herpes infection, your blood work will return a false-negative because blood tests look for antibodies to the virus, which won't be present for 12-16 weeks after infection.

ughhh could it be something else possibly ? my partner doesnt have any bumps or anything, how long does it take the swab to come back... im going insane waiting for results:(

It could always be something else, but herpes is most likely. Swab results can take up to a week, I know it's hard but at least a swab will give you a pretty definitive answer so long as it was taken when the lesions are fresh.

Most herpes spread during periods called asymptomatic shedding, which is when someone is contagious but has no visible symptoms, so it isn't unusual that your partner does not necessarily have symptoms.

Herpes is so common and not a big deal, you will be fine either way!

test for hsv1 & hsv2 came back negative and the swab came back as nothing as well.... they have no clue what could have triggered it .

Strange, but good news! Did you get the swab before it started to heal? Can you confirm what sort of blood work you had done, and was the swab a culture swab or PCR?

its says PRC negative but the swab said inconsistent with acute vaginitis ... im not sure what that means... and yes my ulcers were very raw when they got the swab

The picture is kind of blurry, but am I seeing correctly that your PCR results are from a serum (blood) sample? If so, this is the incorrect test. Herpes is not present in the blood, so you can't determine or rule out an infection with this test. Do you recall, was the swab taken from the sores themselves, or was there an internal swab? The description of "vaginal secretions" leads me to think that swab wasn't testing for HSV. Did you discuss the results with your doctor?

I zoomed in to see a bit better, and it looks like your swab was looking for bacteria, and herpes is a specific viral infection, not bacterial. If these are all of your results, it doesn't seem you were actually tested correctly for herpes. Sorry hun! Are the sores still present?

yes i discussed the results with my doctor and made an appointment for tomorrow to get looked at by another doctor. and yes i did get a swab on the ulcer and also inside the vagina. they actually gave me valtrex the day they swabbed me because it did look like herpes and i was in so much pain but the results came back as negative. but i will get tested again because this outbreak cant be from chlamydia .

Which result is your doctor saying are the swab results because I don't see anything other than the bacteriology and vaginitis results. Which are they saying are the HSV PCR swab results? It's possible herpes is ruled out already if they truly did a PCR swab, but I just don't see those results on your paper. Good that you are going to get it looked at again. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you but it looks so much like herpes that I don't know what else it would be! Did you have any sexual activity in the days before the sores appeared?
