Hi, kinda panicking right now. My boyfriend gave me oral sex on Saturday then 3 days later he developed a cold sore on his lip, the next day i started experiencing thrush like symptoms - no pain just itching and discharge. I then had a doctors appointment 2 days later due to this and the doctor said that it was defo thrush and prescribed me with the thrush tablet - that night i started noticing little tiny spots on my vagina but majority of it was red and inflammed , it then became so sore to sit down/ touch and pee because it was stinging so much! i then went to out of hours on Saturday where it was still sore - they said it looks like herpes but should book an appointment with my sexual health clinic since then only the pain has gone down and the spots still look the exact same and i am only itchy up my vagina as if it is still thrush?? i am so confused but thinking it must be herpes if my boyfriend developed a cold sore the next day.

Hello. It does look like herpes. Could be hsv 1 because you can get herpes on your vagina from oral herpes.

Absolutely herpes, probably HSV-1 given your boyfriend's cold sore.

100% herpes. Your doctor should be able to tell just by looking at it. The first outbreak is the worst so you'll be fine. Use lidocaine to help with the itch. Don't panic though, it's so normal to have, and when the spots are white it means they're healing. Just don't touch them since if you touch them during your first outbreak it can spread to other parts of your body, but after the first they can't show up anywhere else.
