Herpes possibility? Please help!

I hadn't had sex in about 2 years until April 26th with a guy. We had a lot of sex & some unprotected (first time ive ever had unprotected). Everything was fine afterwards. We had sex again on May 1st (mainly unprotected again - hitting myself on the head for it), and now im in a s**t ton of pain on my vulva and in my vagina. I think my vagina hole ripped a little bit from sex on May 1st, I have red blister like bumps near my vagina hole, anus hole, and some on my vagina lips/close to my clit. I also see some when I spread my vagina lips & look inside. My lymph nodes are very swollen. My discharge is pretty liquidy & theres a funky smell "downtown." It hurts SO bad when I pee, so i started taking AZO, but ive noticed it still stings. Idk if this is because of the slight tear or if it is herpes. I asked him if he was clean earlier today (May 4th) & he said yes?? Please please help. Im going to Planned Parenthood on Monday, but the pain is awful.image imageimage

def looks and sounds like herpes. i would get lidocane gel for now to sooth the pain. pee in the shower or in the tub, sit in a basin of warm water and salt water. did the guy actually show you pics of his std record? if so were you the only person hes slept with since the test? many people think they are clean but 80% of people who have it do not know. many dont show symptoms but still have it and can still have it

no, he didnt show me. i just asked if he was clean & he said ya. ive told him something is up, so i think he's coming over tomorrow. we'll talk about it more in depth.

i also forgot to mention, could it be a bacterial infection? im nervous he played with my ass/fingered my ass & used the same finger when playing with my clit/fingering my vagina hole. does that change anything?? or you still think its probs herpes??

i still think its herpes. but it can be bv also. during the first outbreak ive seen many people (myself included) have watery discharge. for me it was so bad i had to wear panty liners and it smelled weird. i tested positive for hsv2. after i finished my antivirals, i still had the smell and watery discharge and it ended up being bv, my doc said bv will make people have outbreaks or make you more susceptible to catching it

its not super watery, its just more so than normal. so far ive lounged in loose pajama pants to give it room to breathe.

so since i hadn't had sex in 2 years, he's probs had it & didnt know since herpes isnt usually included in a regular screening? (IF i do test positive).

also, should i ask to do a swab or get blood work done? thank you so much for replying to me.

definitely go and do a swab! the blood can give you a false negative if were newly infected since your body hasnt had enough time to produce antibodies (which is what the blood test looks for) with a swab you will get a definite answer

thought so! ill be getting one tomorrow at 2pm & will keep yall updated. if it is herpes, im honestly not too worried. Anxiety in regards to future partners, thinking im dirty now, etc. only stigmatizes it more. Trying to be conscious of that & trying to focus on how to keep the pain & itch away!

Exactly stigma is the worse thing about this virus!

i see so many people writing "clean" and "dirty" on this! they are the worst ways to describe things! having herpes doesnt make you dirty, not having it doesnt make you clean! there is so much work going on by HANDS the support group to dismantle stigma!

      hope your okay!x

could you post a link to HANDS please? im alright, mainly just itchy, so its a b***h to keep from scratching lol!

Looks like it could be, so you should go get tested so you know for sure either way.

hello Cline. please go to the doctor tomorrow. it looks like it might be herpes and you may also have another STD based on your symptoms. herpes is not normally affect your ability to pee. so it may be some other type of venereal disease associated with this. hopefully it's not something that an injection in the butt won't cure. don't despair seek treatment right away and you will be fine. it's not the end of the world just in the future always always always protect yourself.

i can pee fine! it just stings when it hits the blisters. ive been hopping in the shower everytime i need to pee to dilute it.

you can use a water bottle while you pee just pour it on yourself while on the toilet helps without having to go in the shower.

Hello all! I got a swab/culture test today. Super painful s**t (i screamed it hurt so bad), but my physician says it's def is herpes! My tests will come back in 2-3 days to give me the 100%, but I 100% it's herpes. Had a good cry. Mainly from the pain of the swabbing. My outbreak is really really bad, but ive got my antivirals, got my numbing stuff, got some epson salt for baths as my outbreak is healing. My friend was by my side the whole day, & so was my sexual partner, which made it a lot easier. Im honestly fine, the pain is whats killing me right now & having to cancel a lot of stuff. Im definitely emotionally/mentally drained too, but im staying positive! If you're worried that you may have it, find a support system ASAP, go get tested, and do GOOD research - aim for educational platforms that work to de-stigmatize HSV. Remember: 1 in 5 people have it and 80% of those people dont know. It's extremely common! I'm definitely going to think about sharing my herpes diagnosis to the public to help with the destigmatization. Thank you all so much for all of the help!

Yes, I have HSV2 genitally. The swab test confirmed it because i was having an outbreak. That's the only way it would confirm it. If a person isnt having an outbreak, it'd be best to get a blood test.
