Herpes tests please help !!!

has anyone ever been misdiagnosed . specifically a false negative through blood test ? I took igg and igm a month after an exposure i believed i had symptoms but my results were negative. I feel like i could still have herpes !! someone share their advice please

    It's likely to be a timing issue. It takes several months following the Herpes exposure for antibodies to develop. Only then will the test turn positive.

    You have learnt something from the tests though. You haven't had any old exposure to Herpes.

      so basically youre saying that even though my results on both tests were negative i still could have herpes ? i thought igm was used for recent exposure and igg stays forever

      igm is to never be used. It takes 12-16 weeks to make enough antibodies. The igg hsv1 is about 70% accurate and hsv2 is about 92% accurate

      The blood tests don't pick up recent infection.

      If you get what looks like an outbreak best get it swabbed within the first 2-3 days
