Herpes while pregnant

hey guys, its been a while but i had believed to be exposed to herpes a little over a year ago i was told it was bv so i always went that. fast forward to today, im 8 months pregnant and getting ready to give birth so of course the responsible thing to do was to ask the doctor for a herpes test, well the blood test came back negative for both HSV 1 & 2, my question is, is it safe to say im clear from the virus being that possible exposure happened over a year ago?

Yes! If you have an out break, the will give you AntiVirals that will help so it wont spread to the baby if you dont have it i wouldnt worry anything about it! GOOD LUCK!!

so being that its been over a year since possible exposure, a negative blood test should be accurate at this point correct? because if i did have it the antibodies wouldve shown up in my blood work ? im sure i wouldve had antibodies by now ?

right you would have been showing by now with it being so long ago... only newly infected doesnt show on a blood test.
