Ok has anyone ever tried the face plunge into cold water to stop a panic attack. I've been looking into ways to try and help me not go full board panic attack. I recently found this technique read in on it a little bit. I'm just wondering if anyone here has tried it and if you have what was you experience with it?

some people do that because it activates the parasympathetic system that lowers the heart rate. Some people find temporary relief from panic and anxiety. It slows down the fight or flight response. You can also use ice packs or a cool shower. not A cure but may be a temporary relief from anxiety or panic also called the divers reflex.

never tried but a coldish shower sometimes helps calm my adrenalin and anxiety. or a run does the same. getting your body active (whether its through the shock of cold or shock of exercise) helps so much!

I have not done that but in the past I have put an ice pack on the left side as I was told and it helps. As you say, not a cure but does help
