Do not apply ANYTHING to the skin on your penis: no soap, shower gel or other forms of body wash. The skin on the upper-shaft and head / glans of the penis is more sensitive that the skin we have elsewhere on the body.

Certainly you should not be applying petroleum jelly as this can be a severe irritant to some penile skin. What the Doctor told you was correct, there is nothing unusual about how the skin on your penis looks, but you can help your penile skin to become even more healthy.

You do this by washing your penis with water only, after each time you urinate if you can, then if you have sex or masturbate you must clear away any and all fluids that are on the surface of your penis. It is also very important to fully dry your penis each time it is washed, as even the regular presence of moisture of any source can become an irritant.

Use a towel that ONLY you use, do not share towels with other people that you dry your entire groin region with, especially your penile skin.

The ONLY safe thing to moisturise penile skin with are natural plant products such as SHEA butter and liquid Coconut Oil - Coconut Oil is the cheaper option, and as long as it is for use on skin, rather than hair it is fine to use. Apply the oil, using a very small amount to give a very light coating after you have taken a shower - 3 times a week, or every other day is fine. It can also be used for a lube for masturbation, again use a very light coating - it can be used for a sex lube, but cannot be used with most condoms ......

e45 cream is certainly not appropriate for penile skin in many circumstances. To save the problem of recovery if it should affect your skin further it is best to stay away from all 'normal' skin applications - this is why I recommend natural plant based products such as liquid coconut oil and shea butter, as, both have natural skin healing properties and are certainly not a mixture of a variety of different chemicals such as the e45 (read the label on the side of a pot).

To get the liquid Coconut Oil it has to be one that is intended for skin, not hair. The purity is a marker of the quality of the oil - so 99% pure is one of the best, then there are one's that are said to be "organic" - but this is no measure of the purity.

Depends what country you are in: in the UK for example there are many high street shops that sell body products and medications that stock good quality liquid coconut oil and it does not cost very much - less that £4 gets you a bottle that lasts for ages.

If you live elsewhere then look for shops that stock body care / skin care products - you could of course order online, but there are no particular brands that are available worldwide that I could recommend - simply look for 99% pure at the most reasonable price .....
