Like you, most people on these discussions are here because of pain.
Don’t feel alone. Many of us (including myself) have had mesh implanted for a hernia repair and then removed because we are worse off with it in.
From all my homework into mesh - most is made from polypropylene or something similar derived from it or some plastic - they are not biological or bio-mechanical compatible with the human body.
Nerve entrapment, excessive scar tissue, inflammation and infections, are just a few things that mesh can cause.
You will need to get some info such as your
Surgical report which should show what type of mesh was used.
Adele (the one who started this off some years ago) and I both used the same surgeon (Sydney Australia) to remove our mesh.
What country are you in? - there are many informed people on here in the US, UK and other countries who could also point you in the right direction to excellent and caring Drs and surgeons who hopefully can help.
I cringe every time someone posts mesh complications.

Hi Pete
Thank you so much for replying I’m lying in bed in tears thinking how could this have happened?? I’m in Melbourne Australia and had the surgery at a public hospital, I agree with you I feel like it’s the mesh that’s not right in my body and I don’t want injections to just bandage the problem nor wait another 6 months to have re surgery, did they fix your hernia without mesh after taking it out? I’m not understanding how all this works except so much pain ... I really appreciate you saying I’m not alone because that’s how I feel locked away now 5 months inside 😥 so I should really get this removed ASAP by the sounds of it ??
Thank you so very very much xxx

Im better for having the mesh out, but by no means back to normal.
I couldnt bend properly, pain in the groin, then got a bloated abdo area, digestive issues, developed IBS, then heartburn and other problems. None of which I had before mesh surgery .
12 weeks after mesh went in, it was back out.
Lab report showed the ilioinguinal nerve was trapped in the mesh with chronic inflammation and a staph infection, the dissolvable strutures after 12 weeks hadn’t dissolved!
Lots of questions would need to be answered first before a decision is made to remove your mesh

I will do as you suggested find out what they used regardless I’m sure that is the problem so if your suffering the same as I am now with it.. am I going to be triple the pain removing... omg ... I hope you will feel better with time.. I got a lot to think about and research... migraines now don’t help feeling very alone.. alone no body to even soothe me except reading your post and knowing a little more!!
Thank you Peter I wish you well!!

Good night xx

And match your repair to the surgeon.
For example some surgeons specializes in open repairs other laparoscopic. Some specialize reading cat scan images some MRI’s.
I had to have my mesh removed after 7 years of pain in which every doctor surgeon and test said all was well.
Finally I sent my cat scan to dr. Belyanski and he saw that my mesh was folded and needed to be removed. Hope this helps.
