Iv noticed alot of people on this site are suffering in pain , just as I am . What I dont understand is why doctors are Brushing this under the carpet like its nothing to worry about '. Is it that they are too lazy to find a cure? or is it that they actually are doubting a lot of people on this site.

Good question......I find it takes a few appointments for them to fully understand the gravity of the situation...

I've brung this up to my doctor before.. it's like they don't take anyone seriously. However, I know someone who went private with the same severity of pain and reflux as I, her consultant was so understanding and told her there is treatments and things they can help you with. 6 months on shes doing much better.

Sometimes I honestly think its to do with cost. The way a&e works is all on bloods.. of there's nothing wrong there you won't be admitted. Obviously there's only so much a GP can do.. we need a specialist.. the nhs seem to be short staffed everywhere.

Don't get me wrong what yhe nhs does is incredible, just feels like we're forgotten about because we aren't dying, just suffering! Hang in there, it's all we can do! Reading all the comments of people who are recovered and are getting through it certainly brings me hope! X

It must be your GP's because the minute I tell mine the meds are not working and I am in pain, she refers me to a consultant

The NHS is only short staffed because they allow their doctors to work only a few days a week for their mega salaries along with the wonderful pension while the rest of us, our employers make us work 5 days a week. Imagine if every GP in the country saw patients 5 days a week, don't think you would have any problem getting an appointment.

I've been to my GP more than 5 times after the past 4 months' - and shes trying to eliminate what it could not be. Its frustrating, because it exhausts the hell out of you going backwards and fourths to have the doctors say the same thing as in theres nothing wrong with you , and just hand you over anxiety tablets'. its the worse frikn thing is to prescribe you tablets that arent necessary especially if you havent been diagnosed with anxiety ' SO THEY SUGGEST oh here ya go . this might shut u up . Heres some anxiety tablets'. its the worse feeling and especially since you are in so much pain to begin with'. and then to have someone slap you in the face with some tablets that arent even necessary '. I think they feel like it stops you from worrying. , it definately doesnt help you with the pain that you suffer'. etc.I finally got to see a specialist who specialises in Acid reflux a couple of days ago and he actually grilled me stating I dont have those symptoms that the barium swallow test showed that I had no acid reflux, and then TO have My GP say to me after I had my barium swallow test that I do have acid reflux. Its frustrating. While these doctors and specialists cant make up their mind as to what it is I have, meanwhile I still suffer'. Its coming up 5 months and still the same as 2 months ago  no real progress. Iv been to My GP. and 3 other doctors. Plus a specialist . Speciliast is reading to me the notes that he has infront of him and more less implying that I am making this stuff Up. Id really like to Kick their a**** for implying that I am making this stuff. up . he was a Great example of a person who specialises in this field to not give a sh*t what Im going through. I wanted him to help . all he could do was sit back in his chair and judge judge judge and more judging'.while hes Judging or while they're all Judging im suffering. and YEs it s**

Yes not to mention the speciliasts. I waited 4 months for a specialist to have him imply that Im making this stuff up . that I dont suffer from symptoms, how bold he is making judgments without even investigating it further'. !!".. I have had people close to me that personally know Me rather than strangers. Who have seen me suffer in Pain . and have been up all night Trying To figure out whats going on with me while doctors are like Oh its this , oh its that'. Would be nice for once when they make their minds up for once and not lead me on and give me tablets or prescribe me tablets especially when I havent been diagnosed with Anxiety '. its almost like they cant find anything and my GP has been waiting and waiting for a specialist to see me as I have and it finally was a relief to hear the Specialist say oh you dont have that'. Ok thats Great. Then What do I Have? He made judgment but he wasnt willing to state how he was going to fing out what I have. . #timewaster

Exactly.I needed to buy Ranitidine (Zantac) for my issues and the chemist gave me the lecture about indigestion , heartburn , reflux and the best time to take my usual dose what will work and what will not work.I  spent longer quality minutes with her and appreciated her genuine concern for my long term problems.I sometimed feel that I am the one suggesting to my GP waht will work for  me and what would be effective. I asked her what would be the best exercise to maintain a good weight and keep the pounds off she just replied any exercise is good.

So I would like to think that crunches and anything that's got to do with abs exercise is fine.Didn't get he possible best answers and still keeps me guessing...
