I'm 19 years old and recently, my girlfriend told me she has herpes and didn't know. She had a bump on her vagina for 3 years and doctors always said it was nothing serious. She had blood work several times and said it never hurts, It never scabbed or anything. Just a bump. It never burned when she urinated or nothing like that. But one out of the many doctors said it was genital herpes. I don't see how the other doctors would miss the fact that she had the virus during the three years. I don't have any of the symptoms at all. I had a bump on my lip that was filled with pus and it was deeply into my skin. I've read pus doesn't go deeply into ur skin with herpes but pimples do. When I popped it, only pus came out. No clear liquid or blood. When I popped it, it looks as if the skin peeled and turned red but its not visible. I've had sex with her only 4 times within 5 months and don't have any symptoms of herpes. I don't even think she has he virus considering she's been to tho doctors at least 10-15 times over the 3 years and doctors found nothing in her bloodwork and said the bump wasn't anything serious. (the bump doesn't look anything like herpes and she never had any clusters or blisters and it never scabbed up or bursts) can I have anybody's opinion? Can doctors mistake a bump for herpes?)

I'd say if bloodwork doesn't show herpes after 6mos of exposure, she doesn't have it.
Maybe it's a genital wort (HPV)? It's very common, nearly 100% of the population has had exposure (many clear the virus from their system naturally). Warts don't hurt or have pus.

Yeah she would have been tested positive for herpes after 6months after getting desposed to the virus. And then, herpes normally wouldn't last for three years. Normally it would appear be there for 7 days +/- and then dissapear and appear again afterwards as a new outbreak. SO if i were you guys i would have gone to get a blood test for BOTH TYPES again - and see. if it is negative then off course no its not herpes then.
