hi, about 18 months ago i had my first ever panic attack - since then ive had several, i was still getting pain on my left chest, it was a burning feeling and very tight. my docs done xrays but came up with nothing. as it was getting worse i could not cope with pain, then docs said it was tietze syndrome. I have it nearly 24/7 im only 36 and it gets me down. i was taking voltarol and they did not help plus i was getting side effects. im really lookin for a cure as it gets me very depressed. I would love to cht with other people with the same symptoms xx

i started to have my pain at least 18 months ago, it first started with moderate pain the mornin after a night out drinkin and smoking, i found that goin to the gym and acually gettin some excersise did me well it did not return for a few months.

Now it looks like its here to stay, smokin does effect this and make it worse in my mind im sure but i have not found any information to bak this up yet... They aint that much information on this at all is there and what you do see is really confussing... talks of tumors on sturnums is the worse ive seen.

I would like to still have my own x-ray to make sure but my doctor laughs in my face so i aint got that far yet.

I dont take pain killers of any sort yeah they do improve things for me but i aint wantin take them all my life im only 25 i dont believe these thing do you any good in the long run.

My pain is not as bad as other peoples so ive read maybe im lucky.

My main question to anyone who has this is what does ur sturnum feel like? mine when swelled up pushes up around the bone if i move it around it will click it feels really weird, is yours like this?????????

I've read several of these comments from fellow sufferers but this is my first response. Mine, too, has progressed from every few weeks to every few days, to (back in June) every night to (starting in October/05) 24/7. It's maddening. Mine is not horrible pain but much discomfort. The worst part is the feeling of impending doom. I feel like I am just waiting for the big heart attack that's coming. I've had every test possible. Thalium Stress and EKG (for heart), ultrasounds (for other organs), blood tests and spine/neck X-rays. They all came back fine so naturally Docs want to check my mental status (Stress, depression, etc). I've never been officially diagnosed with Tietze's or Costochondritis or Chest Wall pain because Doctor's just don't know enough but they and I am quite certain that's what it is. Hot baths help to ease comfort and xanax helps with anxiety. I'm experimenting now with Trigger Point therapy, which is small, quick injections of xylocaine (spelling?) or lidocaine into the muscles. It works well but only temporarily so far. Good luck. Ben

Hi, I am a sufferer of 8 years I no longer go to the doctor. I do stretching exercises 3-4 times a day and take 1000mg of fish oil. Most days are unbearable but excepting that I have just got to get on with it took a lot of stress out of my life as I no longer expect an answer.
