Hi all, having terrible problems with itching on HRT..anyone else have this problem too?

Hi I started talk couple of months ago about Ellsete Duet 2mg but said it gave greasy hair..also gave lots of periods so Dr changed me to Livial 2,5 mg. Been fine for month-no change emotionally but back of head started to itch uncontrollably for last couple of days! Can not get Dr's appointment until next week so don't know if should stop this tablet too or wait until I've seen the Dr? Would appreciate any help or advice you may have if you have had the same smile Thank you, take care and keep smiling!

    Hi

Last year i itched from top to toe except my face, this is when i had to come off hrt for tests etc.

in desperation as it seems with all medication that is causing problems drink at least 2 ltrs water per day. this will clear your system out.this is what i did and within 48 hours the itch had gone

if water sounds really bland add a little of your favourite juice to your water

    hope this helps

      GOOD MORNING JACKIE.

OVER A PERIOD OF TIME I TRIED AROUND 4 DIFFERENT TABLETS.

      I FOUND CLIMESSE SUITED .

      I AM A PIONEER FOR H R T  AS I HAD A EARLY MENOPAUSE AT 37.

I TOOK 1 TABLET AS PRESCRIBED FOR MANY YEARS AND NEVER THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT THE DOSAGE.

I HAD A BREAST CANCER SCARE AND WAS TOLD TO "COME OFF IT" I TRIED  BUT THE SIDE EFFECTS WAS SO BAD I HAD TO GO BACK ON IT .

THEN I WEANED MYSELF OFF  BY FIRSTLY CUTTING MY PILL IN HALF FOR AROUND 3 WEEKS -IT WORKED.

THEN CUTTING DOWN TO QUARTER DAILY -IT WORKED

THEN CUTTING DOWN TO QUARTER EVERY ALTERNATE DAY.

THIS IS HOW I WEANED MYSELF OFF IT.

I FEEL DOCTORS HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY SAY "COME OFF IT" AND WHAT AWFUL SIDE EFFECTS HAS ON ONE

THEY NEVER SUGEST WEANING OFF THE PILL.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU FOR NOW AND IN THE FUTURE AS COMING OFF IT IS NOT MUCH FUN EITHER

I've heared it can take a while to find the right tablet-I also take epilepsy medication and gabapentin for a hypersensitivity problem.

It sounds like you have been through the wars with things and have learnt a thing or two about HRT! I'm so niaeve about it but am trying to take it all in. I know I should have been on it a couple of years ago but the Dr's were scared to prescribe it because of all the other stuff I take! It's a tough call for them really.

I do hope that you are all sorted out now or on the mend at least? I have taken your advice and am drinking lots of water and the itch is now easing off at last. I felt like my head was on fire!

Take care of you and let me know how you are now

      GOOD MORNING JACKIE

I AM DOING OK  NOW-I AM OFF THE HRT-BY WEANING OFF MYSELF-

IM GLAD THE WATER HELPED, AS IT DOES PURIFY THE SYSTEM OF TOXINS.

      HAVE A GREAT DAY
