Hello ladies, I'm so sorry I haven't been on here to reply to any of you & im so sorry you are all still suffering so much.

My daughter has had a terrible time so far.

But after the Botox she has managed some meals & some food is staying in she is day 9 post procedure so it should improve further. She still has pain every day most of the day but has only bedmate in A&E once in the last 9 days & before it was every other day .

Also she is taking magnesium capsules & magnesium hot baths, and since this also she has managed the pain better than she could before.

My sister who had her GB out a couple of years ago has taken the magnesium capsules for 3 days and she already says her nerve ending pains have gone.

She had constant dull pain only but it's taken that away.

But as for my daughter will keep you posted on progress.

Wishing each and everyone of you well and so hope you get better soon xxx

Hi Carol, I was getting really concerned as we hadn't heard anything from you.

So do you think she is improving as she hasn't been to a&e so much, it seems to take sometime for the botox to work. Did they say how long it would take or is it gradual?

Fingers crossed for you both xxx

Hi carol how is your daughter feeling now? Ive still got lots of problems going on to ive had pain where the gallbladder was, right side rib pain, right side pain, right back pain, feeling sick, toilet problems, im also still on a low fat diet and my weight keeps going down. I also get these strange feelings in my stomach like its popping and moving around thats the only way i can say how it feels? my liver enzymes went up after the surgery aswell. I also had a scan done and at first they thought a clip was in the wrong place but when the gp phoned the surgerns they said they always clip it? so im left not knowing much.

i have a appointment again with the surgerns on in june but i dont think its going to be much help.

Let me know how your daughter is doing i hope she feels abit better now xx

      Oh bless you Carmella,

I'm so sorry you are still suffering.

The noise you describe in your tummy my daughter gets it as well lots of popping sounds really odd. Her pain & sickness has been horrific & she has spent so much time in A&E that the Drs pulled a pain team in to try & give her a bit of normality back. So they put her on Tramadol higher dose at nighttime then paracetamol every 4 hrs, & Tramadol at 10 am then Oramorph in small doses multiple times a day. This is keeping her out of A&E but it's high quantities, so not for long term. She is seeing another specialist on Tuesday evening in London & im praying he has a better idea on how to manage this.

Like you she can't eat a lot and weight dropping off.

Hope you get some answers soon

      Xxx

      Hi Carmella

im so sorry you are still also suffering & you have had to wait so long for an appointment.

She is suffering a lot but with it now she hates everything that is to do with it as she feel so ill all the time.

She managed well for this week on the medicine but today the sickness has kicked back in again, she isn't able to eat so they are going to have to make some serious decisions at the appointment on Tuesday evening as it will be impossible for her to carry on like this much longer.

i know there is no outright cure for this illness but there has to be a better pathway forwards for everyone.

whatever we find out on Tuesday we will share.

hope you feel better soon xx

How long did your surgery last? Does pain medicine help? Would it be easier sleeping in a recliner chair than a bed? Did you have laparoscopic removal? Sorry for so many questions, I'm having my gallbladder removed on Tuesday.

Hi john the surgery is very quick i didnt find that part to bad. it did hurt to walk and after as the nurses try to get you to walk about after and eat something and also go to the toilet. when i got home for the first few days i found it really hard to get of the bed and even go to the toilet but that part does settle. ive had problems after the surgery though so my meds are not working to well. I have a appointment with the surgerns again in june as no one seems to know what it is at the moment. But most people are ok after the surgery and will recover fine. Everyone recovers at different times it depends on your body and how it gets used to not having a gallbladder. you might have some side affects but should not last for to long and i would stay on a low fat diet at first just to let your body get used to having no gallbladder. i did have laparoscopic removal and i slept with about 4 pillows so i was nearly sitting up in bed at first but you might find it better to sleep in a chair. have you got gallstones? or a not working gallbladder? i had gallstones and was very ill before the surgery so that also could be why i have problems after but you should be fine. the nurses are very good and look after you and give you pain meds and ask for antisick so when you wake up you wont feel so sick thats what i did and that helped. if you have no problems after your surgery you should be home the same day smile goodluck i hope this helped and let me know how you get on smile
