i too like you are worried about the effects on our liver etc when taking these rather strong painkillers and the other meds, but i did ask my gp about it and she said they were ok.
i did apply for dla in aug and had a reply last fri, i didnt qualify for it, i spoke to one of the clerks and she took some notes as i said that i think i didnt emphasise enough about the care i do get. I also went to citazens advise and they were very helpful and gave me a check list to see if i qualify for the \"care\" part of dla i ticked 90% !!!! so i sent it back with copies of my mri and other stuff. Im sure if you went to see the c.a.b they would help filling in forms. their so confusing it took me 2 weeks to do and i felt defleated at the end. the thing is this condition doesnt go away in a month or two! i,ve had it 2 yrs and if i could get on with my life i certainly would~~~Who would want to go through this stuff if they didnt need to??? not me thats for sure, hope this info is helpful to you.

I can't believe they say you don't qualify for DLA how come other people have been getting this?
I really don't know what's going on in this country anymore. :x
If we cannot go to work because of our illness then we are classed as Disabled in which case we do qualify for DLA. I can't believe we have to fill in form after form for a measaly (spelling) amount of money. The thing is if I had enough money of my own saved I would've been living off that and not the Incapacity Benefit I do receive but I'm made to feel GUILTY for asking for it.
I'm also worried about my Mortgage as it only covers my Sickness for 12 months, it started in January this year, so after December I don't know what I'm going to do. How are we meant to survive afterall it's not our fault that we've injured ourselves is it!
It's just one thing after another, I'm totally fed up how come all these Scrounging Sods all over the country can claim for Disability when there's nothing at all wrong with them, maybe we should do the same and lie about our ailments etc, (trouble is we are :steam: Genuine cases)
Sorry for going on but it does make my blood boil.

ditto to everything you said it is making me mad but whats the point eh? it seems i,ve been fighting for something since i was diagnosed with this first it was i didnt want to go on sick leave from work but health and saftey, and the fact i couldnt do as much as previous and they had no \"light duties\" for me. then its fighting to actually get my surgery for me to be able to go back to work , and now this dam dla, how can anyone possibly live on £72 a week? if i could work id be there like a shot i love my job and used to work anything from 35-50 hrs a week, now like you i am worried about finances after the 12 mths(due to waiting to have this operation) i have to go to a job focus interview at the job centre in nov!!! they make me laugh to see if they can help me back to work HELLO I<VE GOT A JOB they can pay for the op that would help lol. i never realized what genuine cases had to endure in this country , what do they want i,ve sent everything in my mri results if thats not proof what is??? roll on next year. :evil: gail

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's feeling like this!
I went for my Pre-Assessment today what's the point I've been told there's a 4-5 months wait, the Nurse today actually told me I would have the Op done within 13 weeks. I'll believe it when I'm on the trolley in Theatre.
