Hi anyone has been living with chondromalacia?

Hi , I have been struggling to persuade my GP that something was wrong with my knees. When GP has booked for an X-ray after 3 months and 6 visits , I decided to have private MRI and specialist ortho consultation. Chondropatio patellae  st1-2                             ( chondromalcia)

Of course private doctor advised for bilateral arthroscopy. It always help when I rest but soon after I start walking there is unbearable pain . I am working 12 hrs shift and can’t imagine my life anymore.

I enjoyed skiing, running, weightlifting, forever walking. Nothing that I can do now.

I would be interested if anyone had this for number of years and how quickly can chondromslacia progress from st 1-2 to stage 4?  Had anyone had arthroscopy done and what have you had done during procedure?

Anyone heard about regenerative treatment? Did it work?

I lived with it for over 20 years before having a. Partial knee replacement, followed by a total three years later. At first, I continued to play softball, volleyball, run 5 miles a day. Not without pain though. Several factors contribute to how fast it advances including weight, smoking and lifestyle amongst others.

My pain mgmt dr does regenerative and wants to fo it on my other knee, but not covered by insurance. He had it fone on his hips and went back to the soccer field a week later, but he was an olympic player in his younger days. I have heard good and bad about it.

Partial knee replacement? What did you have replaced? I am 38 and never done anything in my life but moving , jumping, climbing . I have exercised like 3-4 hrs a day cos I loved it so much . I was eating healthy and not smoked just did too much . Hate to take painkillers so I rather lay in bed all day with minimal pain instead of doing anything at all as even longer standing causing me too much pain. Does your doctor wants to do cartridge regeneration or all joint ? How much r we taking about?

Chondro grades 3 and 4 of patella. I bounced back from a partial replacement in which patella was replaced. Didnt return to volleyball, but did to ridong, etc.

We knew when did partial a total knee replacement would be in my future. Hoped years down the road. Moved to different state, another injury to knee and it was replaced.

I take up to three 10 mg perc a day n Hysingla Er. However, I have had back n neck fusions, and list goes on. Knee still kills me, but I dont give in and up to easily. See dr in a couple weeks for my 1 year anniversary. Wish I had not gotten it done, but cant undue it.

Terri what do u wish u haven’t had done?

I am on the end of my tethers-and by the sound of it this is just the beginning. 😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪

I have 1 month to go to see orthopaedic doctor through NHS, as I can’t afford to pay more private consultations.

Now my both shoulders hurts as well as I was from right beginning encouraged to swim by my physiotherapist. I had now 7 days rest from swimming as my shoulders were hurting for a month on and off as well. Yesterday I ve done 10 min crowl and I could not get relieve from pain all night.

I have also noticed more pain in right knee when holding the swimming kick board and trying to strengthen my legs. My knee seems somehow push too much in. I feel I can’t do anything anymore without causing myself more damage. Furthermore all my joints shoulders, knees, hips, feet all is poping and clicking. 😪😪😪That’s how it’s all started around in May. I don’t know what to do anymore.!!!!!😢😭😢😭😢
