Hi
Been on Seroquel for about 9 months now. I have uncontrollable facial movements, which are permanent. This started when I first started taking anti-psychotics many years ago. I take an anti-Parkinsons disease tablet to minimise the movements, but have found it doesn't work. That's the worst thing about anti-psychotics.
I lost alot of weight on seroquel. I was a size 16 and am now a size 8. I do excercise alot and I would recommend exercise if you are mentally able to cope with it. It lifts my mood alot.
The good thing about seroquel is that it has allowed me to menstruate again for the first time in years. They are few and far between, but at least I feel like a normal 35 year old woman.
The worst problem is that seroquel seems to make me very angry alot and I kick off at my doctor for the fact that i don't feel that it is working well enough. I'm only on 200mg a day, but i want to keep the dosage low. There's just something not right about me taking this drug. I can't explain it, but I have told my GP, CPN and psych this, but they have said to stick at it.
I don't know how other people take their pills, but i take 4 x 25mg throughout the day and 100mg at night. Not sure at all.
I have borderline personality disorder and to a certain extent it has lessened my mood swings, however I still feel a rage of anger inside of me. I take risks in terms of shouting at people in the street for no reason and regularly shout at my GP. I shout in shops. It's a nightmare. One day someone is going to retaliate.
The jury is still out on seroquel for me.
