Hi, I am 75 and was diagnosed with LS about four months ago after a few months of intense itching.

The dermatologist prescribed Dermovate which worked for about four days and since then I have been tormented with the itch.  The area is also sore.  I went to my doctor and he prescribed Betnavate then Locoid, neither of which relieve the symptoms.  I joined the forum after reading other people's experiences and I must say it is just so good to know that I am not on my own - although I wish there was no-one out there with LS because I wouldn't wish it on anyone.  So thank you to everyone for suggesting things which have worked for you.  I will certainly try some of them.

Meantime if anyone can suggested ways of getting some relief I would be eternally grateful.  I don't see my dermatologist again for a couple of months and feel desperate.  A good night's sleep would be a blessing. smile

    Hi everyone

    I am sorry that I seem to have started what seems to be a heated discussion on what suits different people.  I have been overwhelmed by everyone's response and I have started to try different things suggested by all you lovely people who are trying to help.  I do appreciate you taking the time and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    At the moment I am having a bad time but I am going to keep trying to get on top of this horrible condition.  Please look after yourselves and I'll keep you posted if anything works best for me.

      Don't be sorry Patricia. This is what forums are for. We all have different symptons and different treatments.  The reason it gets so heated is that it is such a problem.  We are all trying to find a cure.  We are desperate!  Marey has found something which works for her and as a result is desperate for others to try it.  I am sure we all feel the same about things we find work for us but in the end we all have to live with this the best way we can.  I wish you the very best of luck in finding the way that suits you best.  No one on this site means anyone any harm.  All the best.  Chrisy xx
