Hi I am going to see a consultant on Friday as my doctor thinks I may have gallstones. I get a pain under my ribcage on my right side which is severe but not as bad as some seem to say. I also get gnawing feelings in my whole stomach and hunger pangs! Did any one else get this? The other symptoms I have is sweating alot which I am not sure if it is related or not! My liver function test was abnormal does anyone know if this is normal if you have gallstones? I am also concerned as I have some blue/red discolouration of my abdomen wall which my doctor commented on but didn't go any further in explaining. Has anyone else experienced this?

I also seem to be sweating a lot more than normal, although I don't have a temperature. I'm not sure yet if the pain is definately gallstones, but next time I see the doctor I will mention this and if he has any ideas I will let you know.
Just one point though, if you are running a temperature don't mess around, if the gallbladder gets infected it can cause long term damage to the liver - so get to the hospital sharpish!

My bloods have just come back normal, so no indication for another scan. It seems daft to be disappointed at normal results, but I can't understand how nothing is showing up! Having spoken to many people over the past week, everyone seems to have a story about gallstones not being detected for ages. This is only anecdotal evidence, but very interesting! I also have a grotty chest at the moment - hadn't related it till reading above entries!
