Barretts is a precancerous warning.
If you follow with your gastroenterologist on a regular basis and have endoscopies as needed...IT IS VERY UNLIKELY that you will develope cancer.

And I also hope that your Barrett's remains in it's non cancerous state.
kind regards

Yes. Barretts is in it's non-cancerous state. I had constant heartburn and nausea for a few years before diagnosed. I just figured it was part of getting older, so never even mentioned it to my doctor. About 5 years ago,I mentioned to the doctor about always feeling something in my throat..even though I hadn't ate anything. The scope was done and a couple of things removed. The surgeon said I had Barrett's, Accute Peptic Ulcer,GERD,Gastritis, Peripheral vascular Disease. I am supposed to have Nissan Fundoplication in January.

Sounds very familiar.
I suffered with acid reflux all my life and didn't go to the doctor until I passed a kidney stone (25 years ago). Follow up investigations discovered the Barrett's.
I had a fundoplication in 2008. Best thing I ever did. Hope yours goes well.

A physician can only give us full care if we are forthcoming with out complete history.
