Hi everyone, I have bi-lateral hip degeration, completely bone on bone (as well as being diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis) and well, if you're reading this I guess I don't need to tell you about how much pain and stiffness I'm living with. I will be getting my first THR after the new year. My mobility has drastically deteriorated and I'm trying to find aids that will help me from this point and post op. The bathroom seat riser will be an answer to one of the many difficulties I'm facing. The support being shared here is wonderful. Thank you!

Hi there.Im sorry you are having to suffer through this.It is difficult.I am 57 about to be 58 in Jan and my 81 year old mother in law can walk faster then I can.Its humiliating.I really like the seats with bars or handles on both sides so you can ease yourself down into the toilet. It is more controlled. The other things I found helpful is this thing that helps you get your socks slipped on.Its awesome, saves time and pain. The other thing is a grabber with some type of hook omit so you can pick things up and the hook thing helps me with my clothes so I can pull my pants up and don't have to bend. These things have been helpful.

I will get at least 2 grabbers...one for each end of the house AND the sock slipper on helper (trying to get dressed for work is next to impossible.) I am bone on bone on BOTH hips, and the toll it's taken on both my knees and elbows (from overcompensating there, not to mention the Spondylolisthesis in my back I was diagnosed with through all this has been horrible. I pray I will have enough strength to recuperate. And with support, suggestions and comraderie like I've seen here, this will help be greatly. THANK YOU!!
