i suffer from severe depression etc . About 8 years ago I was of work for 4 months with horrendous headaches an neck an shoulder pain . The docs put this down to cluster headaches . Had injections in my neck and shoulders for pain and this lasted for 2 days .

since then I have had constant aching in my neck and shoulders which get worse every couple of weeks and can last a few days . The pain goes down my shoulder blades so very uncomfortable.

the past year I have started getting pain in my lower back which like my top half aches all the time but gets so bad I have a job to sit walk etc . Seen a specialist about my back an was basically told it’s in my head , hypo sense . It hurts so bad that at time I can’t even be touched it hurts so much .

could this be fibromyalgia. My mental health doctor has mentioned it but not the normal doc

any help would be much appreciated

Hi, I'm not really sure because it's difficult to diagnose. With fibromyalgia you get allsorts of different symptoms.  I've read that if you have tender areas in general such I've got chronic back pain which I've had for 16 years and has got a lot worse in the past 4 years which is around when my fibromyalgia symptoms started.

I think the only way of getting a proper assessment and answer is to ask your GP to refer you to rheumatologist to assess you. It's 8-9 months waiting list which is a nightmare but best doing it as quickly as possible so you know exactly what's going on....if you CAN ever find out. I feel your pain...literally!  So difficult to function as a normal person 😔
