Hi i suffer from severe psoriasis, and arthritis on my feet.

I have been taking methotrexate for around a year now and psoriasis has never cleared or even looked any better. The pain has eased to to arthritis.

I get terrible headaches, blurred vision, feeling sick, lack of concentration, dizzy spells. I cant slept at night when i take it.

At the age of 29 with 2 small children, i was wondering if there is any point continuing with the medication. Or does anyone know of any other medication to clear psoriasis. This is my main priority to lead a normal life, and enjoy life with my kids.

Hi C. Not sure if you will be reading this site, and may have moved on by now. But here goes anyway just in case you are about. I have had psoriasis for 40 years at varying degrees. I have just started on MX (because I now have psoritic arthitis) so can't really comment too much on side affects, although I have ; terrible heart burn which seems to affect my throat as well. Think trip to doctors is called for.

Psoriais, I have had puva twice and loved it, my skin was clear for about 3 months after the end of the treatment and I had an amazing tan - a huge confidence boost which helped keep me clear.

It has taken me a long time, but I don't cover myself up, I just ignore people who stare at my skin (arms and legs exposed), its their problem if they are uncomfortable, I am approachable and they could always ask me about it.

Good luck, stay positive, see if you can get puva, enjoy your family and be proud. :D
