Hi, sorry this is happening for you. I’ve had a hellish time going back on these.I was so terrified to go to bed 2 weeks ago as I woke so frequently and couldn’t go back to sleep. Temazepam gave me a few unbroken hours 😢. It’s a bit better now and I’ve stopped the sleepers. It’s still difficult and I don’t stop be a zombie until pm. I think this is part of the brain adjustment which takes a little while. I also have bad tinnitus which scares me, I know! It will settle down if you give it chance and you will begin to feel better. Stay with it and you’ll make progress.

Hi thank you very much for ure reply. It’s nice to know I’m not on my own feeling like this. Wot scares me tho is that I feel as tho I’ve lost myself and I feel strange towards my sons, grandchildren and my partner. But the doctor as told me it’s all to do with my depression and anxiety. X

I was bad with sleep the first couple of weeks. I would wake up after about 3 or 4 hours even after taking a sleeping tablet. It did improve and then it got worse again around week 4 then got better again, lol! It’s a rough rider unfortunately. It will get better as your system gets used to the medication. Don’t be afraid to use sleeping tablets if you need them, but remember they won’t work as well if you use them every night. Take care x

You’re not alone in feeling that you’ve lost yourself. Clinical depression can suddenly become acute and we lose our ability to cope. I was shocked when it happened to me and I’m a trained therapist. You will gradually regain some strength and will probably realise that events have been leading up to this for sometime. It’s ok to be frightened.

You are not alone. I am one of those highly-sensitive people, so for me even going from 25 to 50 mg was a gradual adjustment with the increasing feeling of a pounding heart beat, more freaked out with panic feelings, etc. Of course we are going to feel slight changes in our environment and be hyper-aware of what's going on around us. It sucks when you don't feel yourself with your loved ones, but stay the course for a couple more weeks & then decide with your doctor what to do next if you still feel bad. Try to take it easy on yourself and relax when you do "notice". Xx
