Hi I was diagnosed with mild COPD about 4 years ago

I am looking for advice and support and to share information with other people who have lung problems. I have my annual check with the COPD nurse next week. I have not had a chest x-ray since

my diagnosis or anything else. I only see a doctor when I have an infection and have never been

referred to a consultant. At my check i get a peak and flow test done and bloods taken. Is thatsufficient for my condition? What do others think please?

Many thanks. x

I am 77have severe COPD and that's all the treatment I get, and all I need. If I were to have a really bad instance I would get an ambulance to A&E as I did 6 years ago, otherwise the doctor does for chest infections. Nobody can help you except yourself. At the rist of annoying people with my mantra - no smoking, eat a healthy diet and exercise this should keep you at the status quo for years and that is what we aim for. June

Thank you for your reply June. I can't believe you have severe COPD and have not had a chest x-ray or ever

seen a consultant. Many people are just diagnosed with COPD when it is either not that or there is some-

thing else going on as well. I find the rest of your email is not at all relevant to my post and I am aware of

    all that thank you.

If anyone else is reading this I would love a reply please.

Well my dear you can believe that I have never seen a consultant, I didn't say that I had never ever had a chest x ray, I had one two years ago and it was fine. I don't expect to have another one as a matter of routine. June
