    Hi Kate

I too am feeling quite frustrated about the lack of information i have been given. There are two doctors at my surgery and both have massively different views on PCOS. One thinks its nothing and that my symptoms to him dont really equate to PCOS and the other is OK and says yes it is PCOS. I have been on the internet loads and have read soooooo much stuff on PCOS and although it makes sense it is also confusing. I feel like I need to sit down with someone who understands and get it all out but there is nothing near me. I really do know how you feel xXx

Hi kate you need to get your doctor to refer you to outpatients gyne dept at your local hospital i felt exactly the same as you my doctor thought that me not having periods at 19 was fine!! So i insisted he refer me and i have been going for ten years now. I go every three months if i am trying to get pregnant ( which i have done twice on clomid) or open appointment like at the moment as i do not wish to get pregnant but i am on the pill, Metform (for the weight) and Finasteride (for the hair). Before i went on the clomid my partner and i had to have tests done first to make sure i was the problem but after that it was pretty straight forward.I have been living with this now, knowingly for 12 years it does get me down sometimes but life goes on and so does PCOS unfortunately. It is very confusing and cruel illness but luckily we have websites to help.

Worth getting husband checked, (we paid £40 to do it private) just saves another few months wait between appts if when you get referred to a hosp you can show test results and then get more tested on yourself quicker i found! they will want to rule ou husband problems before doing alot more on you! hope that helps smile
