Hi, last September my doctor put me on Noriday.

I am unable to take combined contraceptive pills as I have a genetic risk of blood clots.

This was the first time I had used any hormonal contraceptives, and I suffered the same side effects as you are having.

I had no periods as such, just a bit of discharge like you said.

Like you, my breasts were constantly tender and unbearable to touch.

Also I got mood swings, even though I have never suffered with PMS or anything like that before.

After taking the first three months worth of pills, and no change in the side effects, I asked the doctor if I could change.

She swapped me to Cerazette, which has cleared up my acne really well, and I havent had the mood swings.

Not all was good though, because it seems to have given me permanent cystitis symptoms, which are really painful, and are enough of a contraceptive in itself, as it really puts me off sex when I know it is going to be so painful.

After loads of visits to the doctor, she has finally realised that the pill is causing this, and not an infection, so she has swapped me to Norgeston. I've only been on this one for a day so no side effects as of yet.

If I were you I would go and see the doc about swapping to one which is more suitable for you. Good luck smile

    DO NOT TAKE CERAZETTE

I had a similar experience. after a year on this pill I was very sore and dry down below. after loads of visits to the doc. and loads of vaginal swabs taken (I was unable to have a speculm because if the extreme pain) and scans etc..

I was finally referred to a gynae who imediately knew it was because of cerazette which had depleted my oestrogen levels and brought on menopausal symptons. I was put on HRT for 6 months and to my partners delight things went back to normal.

Thids pill is a disgrace and nearly cost me my relationship, my FP doctor has told me some gp's are refusing to prescribe it anymore.
