hi, my names sarah, i was diagnosed with pcos when i was 18 and had been going to the doctors for a while but he would never test me. eventually he did and he referred me to a gynaecologist as me and my fiancee wanted a baby. first they put me on clomid and metformin and i had to go for a scan once a week, when i had been on that for about four months and that hadnt worked they started me on the puregon which you have to inject everyday. i was on that for a year and sometimes i was going to the hospital 3 times a week for a scan and still it hasnt worked im 21 now and am having a couple of years break as emotionally it was very bad and because im overweight ive been to the doctors ontuesday and got some slimming pills called reductil. i know somebody with pcos who sot them and in 1 year she has lost 6 stone:D

    Hi Sarah,

I'm in a similar situation. I'm 28 and have just been told by my GP that I have PCOS. I also have an appt booked to see a specialist. It's a long wait but worth it.

I'm losing weight at the moment with weight watchers and I am also finding that on the diet I'm not so bloated as the portions sizes are measured and the recipes contain mostly fresh ingridients. Have you tried joining a slimming club?

Even if you are not trying to conceive I would recommend charting your cycles, however few and far between they are, and make a note of your headaches etc... this could prove useful for your GP if your symptoms persist.

    Hi Sarah

I'm in a similar position to you, I haven't received a diagnosis of pcos however I know my blood test indicate this. I have an appointment to see a endocrinologist in two weeks so I expect to have it confirmed then. I have the typical symptoms of weight gain and body hair. However I suffer with bad headaches constantly and with blurred vision. I had never previously connected this with the pcos however I have being to the opticians and they tell me I have good eyesight and its probably stress related as well as using the PC for long periods of time.

However i cant help you with the other.

Sarah, dotn worry. Im 22, and been strugelling to get diagnosed with PCOS since i was 15. since jan , i was told to come back after 8 weeks for tryon to loose weight. It didnt work and ive put on half a stone since. the best thing to do is perseve. Im goin on Metaformin, which should help in weight loss. Laser hair reduction is the best thing. ive bene having it since i was 16, on my legs, and bikinis line and my face. It done wonders, when ive got the money ill do full body! lol its not hair removal but reduction. I cant guaranetee results. On my face i have a full beard, the laser keeps me hair free for abt 4 months, then i go 4 a top up. Dianette is good to for acne, hair reduction,as it helps stabilise testorone levels and being able to create a pattern for regular periods.

see a doctor who is compasionate straight away and dont take no for an answer, get tested.
