I have stayed away from beef chocolate fruit nuts popcorn burgers fizzy pop ice cream Everyone is different what sets me off might be ok for you If you scroll through this forum you will find lots of good advice from other suffers I am seeing a nutritionist in September to be tested for food allergies. If you can't get the help you need from DIVI DINERS or the other posts on here, have you ever considered asking to see a nutritionist/dietician?  Have you been allergy tested?  Are you taking anything like Metamucil/Fybogel (same thing different country, but can help with DD and IBS)?  4 years in pain on a liquid diet is far too long.  I hope you find answers here.

I have them both and have learned to live with it. It's not easy but you will realize making food choices is a way of life. I get depressed to but when I realize it can always be worse I go on and keep going. I keep extra clothes in my car, have learned to remember what I ate that gave me cramps or diarrhea and stay away from those items. The DD flare ups seem to come from a build up of the wrong foods or two many IBS attacks. I take Bentyl for spasms and if I start to get a crampy feeling I go on a low residue diet and stay on soft foods. If you don't feel good in a few days see your doctor. You may need an antibiotic.

Keep your chin up ! it can always be worse. Positive thoughts being sent your way.

    Hi Michael,

I know how you feel, I too have only be diagnosed with the dreaded D. How you are feeling is how I've been feeling since being diagnosed a month ago. Please don't let depression get a hold on you, it can just make it worse. I had never heard of this illness until it hit me like a bomb had gone off! Do listen to all the advice on this forum and you will know your not alone. Also, follow how some people are handling it. I've taken a lot of the advice on this forum and have started to feel better. I am so weak and tired at the moment, it can take four to six weeks before you can start to feel your old self again. Stick to the diet advice, and antibotics (which are horrible with side affects) but you have to take them as I did. You will get better but it takes time. I really feel for you.

    take care

    Kathy
