Hi everyone sorry i was gone for a bit, heads been a bit all over they place lol. Anyways, im on 200mg sertaline now, doctor suggested 100mg in morning and 100mg later in day to help with the way my anxiety tends to creep up throughout the day. He also gave me mirtazapine 15mg to help me sleep at night, LOL what a joke thats been, im waking up screaming with horrific night terrors lol its horrible, sleeping even less, although it does help me fall asleep. also im feeling more anxiety probably because of the nightmares and more short tempered. is this normal. i want to stop taking it, the sertaline was helping but felt like the therapeutic effect was starting to ware of, and my symptoms returning. I personal would like to up my dose of sertaline but im already on 200mg, so i dont know what i should do. any thoughts anyone? x

Hi Gordon, I have been on Venlafaxine and Mirtazapine and have been like you. It helped me fall asleep but not staying asleep plus tiredness next day was bad. I am coming off Mirt now. I would rather sleep less and don’t feel drugged up next day.

Thanks Ala.I spoke with my doctor, and he agrees that i should stop taking the mirt, so i just stopped, had a few days of withdrawal, but night terrors have stopped, still very vivid dreams due to the sertaline but nothing as bad as the mirtazapine. my doctor is giving me a short course of diazipan to help me sleep, ive had them before and they work without all the horrible nightmares and side effects, trouble is there highly addictive and can only have them for a couple of weeks. but thats ok. Will just have to try and find a different combo with my doctor. Im still taking the 200mg sertaline, which is helping still, just not as much as it was originally. Anyways, well get there. trial and error. smile thanks for the replay, good to know its not just me. All the best Gordon smile
