Hi there i have a 7 yr old son who has this.Well i think it must be. He has had a bald area since the day he was born. I took him to the doctor a while ago as his big brother was calling him baldy and he was getting concerned about the thought of getting bullied at school, he was refered to a plastic surgeon and the bald area was removed just over 2 weeks ago. Since he had surgery he has developed 2 new bald areas only 1 that the doctor knows of and she is refering him to a dermatologist so i should find out then if it is this problem or not. I feel very anxious about this because of his young age and there is no history of this in either side of the family.

Over the decades of consulting everybody that i have met working in this field, nobody has the answer its trial and error.
I'm shocked to hear that a 7year old boy has been refered to a plastic surgeon who has then had a patched removed !
This alone could cause more alopcia, the body and the ammune system often reacts to this way.We are all very delicate creatures that are struggling for survival.
All of us are bombarded with various chemicals in our food chain, washing products, toiletries, air polluction the list is endless.
It's a process of elimanation ,a journey of self-awareness and guidence .
Unfortunatley we have to live in a world where our lives suffer ,dietry, environment, emotional stress and finding a perfect balance may never be attained .
I personally have found my alopeacia to be dietry stress and the battle is ongoing, currently i'm taking a multi nutrient, zinc lozenges,l-cysteine,l-methionine this has most definatley helped in the last 2months for my nails but it takes ago 6months before i can make a positive for hair growth.I'm going to start taking sea kelp and evening primrose in the next few months.
I will let anyone know how it all goes if your interested.
Good luck live love laugh ..
