hi there. Ive suffered for a very long time since i was about 21 im now 34. Like everyone else on this site ive had ecgs treadmill tests blood tests camera down my throat as the main areas are, soreness of the stomach under my ribcage /diaphram constant tenderness and breathlesness pains in the chest and more severely now straight through into the back. I went private but as the doc read my notes and all the specialists in the past said anxiety he dismissed me and said maybe i needed to see a phycologist.I admitt i have had a lot of stress in life a fear of dyiing losing close relatives and friends. But who hasnt? life is so bad since i gave birth to my daughter nearly 2 years ago as soon as i pushed her out i had cramping in my chest and stomach and when i go to the toilet exactly the same thing happens it takes my breath. (i decribe it as a sunk in feeling a feeling of being kicked and winded) The anxiety attacks are constanta feeling of a burning sensation rising up into my chest and going into my lungs my back burns between my shoulder blades. Life is so bad i am angry i cant run after my daughter , take her to the park, go out with my boyfriend and friends for a drink im a recluse and stopped working im cramped up all the time and fear i will never get better to the point of wanting to take my life because im only just existing and in so much pain especially leading up to my period i feel bloated inflamed and sore and the most good thing is is that i now know im not alone and not mad SO A BIG THANKYOU TO THIS SITE AND EVERYONE ON IT .
BUT THE ANNOYING THING IS THAT THE DOCTORS HAVE NEVER MENTIONED COSTOCHONDRITIS/TIETZES I went to the docs yesterday and was told there is still nothing wrong with me. If anyone can offer advice on reducing these symptoms so i can get my daughter out and play with her i would be very gratefull. Thank god for the website

Lots of people have suggested physiotherapy/yoga, but I am unable to stretch because of the pain, so like me you may be unable to do these things. If it is teieze's you can have an injection(have completely forgot the name) to ease the pain, and if it is really chronic you can have surgery to remove the cartlidge which is where the inflammatory occurs.
I am seeing my doctor again for the 100th time, and I am going to refuse to leave until he gives me a suitable treatment, as I cannot take painkillers for ever, as all they seem to do is make me sleep.
Hope you can get it sorted xx

I have been diagnosed with Tietze-2 years ago and now I have it again- it has been 6 months.
The doctors also just palm you off. My doctor had never heard of tietze, .....err this was a little worrying to me.
But I am writing because as i was reading this i have a sharp pain on the
top right hand side of my back- and it hurts very much when i take a deep breath. It is actually very sore...and it happens often...
I thought I pulled a muscle but it seems this may be a part of this syndrome.
I also find it very hard to breathe sometimes too. People dont undersand and I too am a bit of a loner becasue social events are too much for me to cope with if I am having a bad day with this.
I feel for you all-
thanks for posting your experiences- it really helps.
take care.
